Cocktail Hour - Are you attending??

My FI and I don't really want to attend our cocktail hour. I guess that we are pretty tradional in this aspect. To me, I don't feel right mingling with people prior to being formally introduced.
(Apparently this and not wanting to see each other before the ceremony make us 'old school').

Who is attending/not attending their cocktail hour???

Wouldn't miss it. We only have 5 hours to see all these people we love--I want to be there for every last second!

we will be attending-- I look at CH as a time to mingle with everyone so we can actually enjoy the reception along with our guests.. and not feel obligated to make trips to every table.

We will definitley be attending at least half of our cocktail hour. I want to talk to as many people as I can during cocktail hour so that I can enjoy the reception more....

Since our CH is after our ceremony I will definately be attending!

If it was before, I would not.

we are going to try to attend 1/2 of it then the last 1/2 we will go to the bridal suite. I want to enjoy both

i'll be mingling at the cocktail hour so i don't have to do it at the reception

I wouldn't miss it for the world. The night is going to fly and I want to be able to speak with everyone. Not to mention I want to eat some/all of the amazing food we picked out!!

I am not attending the cocktail because I will probably still be taking pics. And plus i am tradtional in the fact I want to be formally introduced as Husband and wife I want us to be stars for a day.

i think the cocktail hour is the best part of the wedding and i wouldn't want to miss that at mine plus i want to get some of the mingling out of the way

We're definitely attending! We're taking pics ahead of time - seperately - I don't want us to see each other until the ceremony too. We'll be taking our 'together' pics during cocktail hour - our CH is 1 1/2 hours, so we would be sure to enjoy some of it!!!

We wouldn't miss it for the world! It's one of the main reasons we decided to take pictures before the wedding. We thought about it and decided we only get this one day, and we don't want to miss the party and spending the time with family and friends, especially those from out of town.

We'll definately be there...I want to be able to greet all our guests that way we can enjoy as much of the reception as possible...plu all that yummy food

Well, it does seem there is an overwhelming vote to attend the cocktail hour!!

Thank you all for your thoughts - I will have to review my thoughts on this one!!

we're taking pictures before the ceremony, going to the cocktail hour and are not getting introduced into the reception....pretty 'new school' I guess. To each their own - do what makes you comfortable.

I also want to be formally announced too. I like the idea of having it separate from the other guests....just so we have time with each other and with our bridal party.
