Calling ALL Vendors - Holiday Weekend = increased fees?
I'm considering having my wedding on the Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend in 2006. Before booking....my concern is that vendors (dj, band, photo/video, hair/make-up, florists, limos, etc...) will increase their fees because it's a holiday weekend. Is this the case? I know it's not Christmas or New Years Eve...so I would be shocked if they increased...but before I book my reception site (which DOES NOT increase rates for that date)...I want to be sure I'm not looking at extra unexpected costs.
Thanks in advance for any & all input you can offer!

I can only say that for myself I don't charge extra, but what I do find is that the 3 day weekends are really really popular. So to get your choice of vendors you will want to book early.Happy planning!

Re: Calling ALL Vendors - Holiday Weekend = increased fees?
My office has been recommended by De Severskyfor ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music -both Bands and DJ's for many years. There should never be a price difference for any aspect of a wedding for a holiday weekend. De Seversky does a beautiful wedding -either traditional or Mansion style. I have provided the music for many weddings in both styles.
Please feel free to call me at any time with any questions.

Hi,We do not raise rates for any reason during the year, holiday or not. Holidays weekends are usually very busy during the summer so I would certainly book early.

Re: Calling ALL Vendors - Holiday Weekend = increased fees?
Hi There,We too like the other vendors who have responded do not raise prices for any reason, however I have heard that some do charge a premium for a Saturday night, usually it's incorporated in their price, SO you'll never know.
A conflict of a Holiday Weekend Wedding or any event, is that it clashes with their annual summer vacation. People are able to take their work vacations during the summer and to travel with the kids while out of school.
These are my opinions based on my experience.
Book your vendors early for best selection.
Good luck
