How did you pick your wedding date???

Just curious....

Well I will start..my FI and I are both teachers and I love the summer so I wanted to get married during the summer. We wanted to choose the middle of July so we would have some time after school got out and then some time after the wedding...

I always wanted a summer wedding, but it also was easiest because i am a teacher and wanted to have the break afterwards

BUT, I chose 4th of july weekend because lots of people are coming from out of state and will hopefully make it a long weekend and/or vacation to see family!

Before I was ever engaged I was telling some people that would be my wedding date

Ditto Kathleen. She took the words right out of my mouth. (You can tell bc Im getting married 2 days before) We teachers all think alike. Its scary!!!

we are getting married in august b/c its not as expensive as we thought it was. it ws either nov 3rd or aug 4th. we found out the hall was the same price for either day so we picked august. plus the weather in november is a little unpredictable.

I've always wanted a may or june wedding, so we just chose what was open in may or june once we decided on the hall. But, since some people in our bridal party are also in college, we were leaning towards june so they would be done with finals.

Our first date was Valentines Day so being sentimental I wanted something as close to that date as possible so our date is the saturday before Valentines day!!

Its also nice that Feb is the cheapest month for a wedding!!

I'm a teacher also, but I am getting married in April, right before Spring Recess. We wanted April because it is the beginning of Spring. I'll be taking 5 days off for the wedding anyway.

We actually debated a long time about our date, but I ultimately had the final say! I chose June 10th because it was the date of our first official 'date'. The funny thing is, that date fell on a Saturday the year we met as well!

I always wanted a spring/summer wedding for 2 reasons. One is that I did not want to be in school when I get married and two is because I LOVE hot weather. We picked memorial day weekend because to have it on a Sunday saved us a lot of $$$. I like the fact that most people have off the next day and we can still have it on a Sunday.

We picked August because well.. we actually thought it was a prime month, but it ends up that its not, so it was actually cheeper then we anticipated! As for Aug 26... its my lucky number.. it always has.. i was born on June 26.. I cought a bouquet at my cousins wedding 5 years ago on August 26th - 5 years later Im getting married on August 26th!

To tell you the truth we went to the hall looking to book the winter of 06 thinking that it was going to be cheaper SO when we were talking to the BM she told us because the hall was new that it was the same price across the board......so We were so happy and picked saturday June 24th. I have always wanted to be a June bride. Some things are just meant to be.

FH originaly wanted Sept 25th cuz thats his parents anniversary and his father had past away a while ago but we wanted a saturday so we picked the 16th cuz it was the closest one and also I've always wanted September cuz It's not too hot or cold and a beautiful month

Well orginally we wanted June 24th to be our date b/c that was the date of the first time we said we loved each other. But of course the hall was booked. Then we didn't want to have the wedding on July 4th weekend due to my FH work schedule. So we ended up picking July 8, and I'm a teacher so it fits my schedule perfectly.

Well my FH is into politics and if he runs for office this is a time when he wouldn't be running and we sorta had to work our wedding around this. We also thought it would be cool to get married on Memorial Day weekend because people would be partying any ways and we want them partying with us!! Asides from the fact we like the spring weather we should have!!

i wanted summer and fh wanted fall, so we met in the middle. we originally picked the 26 of august, but then the hall was booked- we went with september 2nd because it was only 1 week later and we got a GREAT deal for it being a holiday weekend!!

I wanted to get married in the winter. When we got engaged my mother suggested the day after Thanksgiving, b/c three people in my bridal party are on the school schedule, and we have three kids in the BP. It was so convenient b/c everyone has off the day before and the day after. And I get to get married in the cold weather.
