Went to 1st Florist - FLORISSIMA - BUDGET PROB

hI,

I went to florissima in huntington today. I told the lady that I am not really a fan of flowers...I just need a sufficient amount of flowers to be considered a wedding. I stated that tall CPs are too much for me...we agreed on those silver julep cups or glass vases...

She said that she couldnt do this job for ANY LESS THAN 2900K. I cannot justify this price...she said that was the low end...that 3.7K is getting the tall CPs..etc.

AM I JUST REALLY OFF/CHEAP??? There must be some girls in LIW who simply won't pay that much??

PLEASE HELP ME.. I am willing to do it myself, but I need some crafty advice too!!

You are definitely not cheap! $2900 for some flowers in silver julep cups is WAY too expensive in my opinion. I think you should definitely check out other florists. Why don't you try posting what you want on the vendors board? This way you'll get a better idea of price range.

I think u need to seek other florists because that quote seems WAY too much. Its sounds outrageous, JMO!

There are some florist who will work with ur budget and u should have no problem finding one...especially From these girls on here.

I heard about:
National Wholesale Floral(who I plan to check out)
Flowers by Burtons
La Blossoms

just to name some and im sure others will follow with some more.

Hi! Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the florist. I think that the quote was way off! If you dont mind traveling out to Prt Jeff, I have a great florist- With All My Heart. Its listed in the vendors section. She offers a lot of different packages (all well under what you were quoted) and she's very helpful in giving you ideas. Go check her out!

That is expensive I think you should try National Wholesale Florist they are a vendor on here & they are unbelievable & they aren't that expensive--you would probably pay half of what you were quoted for what you want. Speak to ChristineAeid she got a great deal and her centerpiece was beautiful. They are in Bellmore on Merrick rd. I am going to check them out on Sunday.

check out national floral in bellmore, anna they are really great and good prices I paid less then that for the works!

can you list out what you want? also try posting on the vendor board! same as you i don't care much about flowers and i was given great quotes from simply stems and flowers by emil.

also, fyi, there are plastic versions of silver julep cups that look exactly the same but much cheaper!!! (they are lighter when you pick them up though.)

I would say that if you want just the bare bones, there should be a package for about $1,200.

I'm not even paying 1/3 of that for my flowers and I'm getting hydrangeas. That price is CRAZY.

I'm getting:

1 bride bo-kay
1 MOH
1 MOG
5 boutinerres
10 centerpieces
cake flowers

about $800.

Look at:

Flower Barn
Trina from Expressions
LA Blossom
National Wholesale Florists

They all came in with good prices for me.

Tell them what you want to spend and they'll make suggestions on what they can do.

Try Linden Florist in Lindenhurst. I had alot owers and it was around $2000. She can definitely work with in any budget and the flowers are beautiful. HTH

go to john at flower michele...

i am using orchids which are expensive flowers and he kept me around 2 grand. just tell him your budget. i also have very simple, low cp's. i plan on spicing up the tables with nice linens instead.

I am doing two small julep cups on either side of the table with a small candle and flower arrangement in the middle.

I am using George at signature florists. FM me for pricing information- but I can tell you, for ALL of my flowers, it's about 1/3 that price!!!

ETA: my arrangements in the julep cups will be smaller, but that's b/c I am having two per table.

I second George at Signature! I am having 3 candles in a wreath of 2 dozen black magic roses and am paying less than what your florist quoted you. Signature is down the block from National Wholesale Florist so you should definitely check them out. FM me for more info!
