Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the site, but I totally agree!! It's so hard to find the perfect place!! I've looked at a few so far:

These are all prices for nights in July/August '07

Jericho Terrace -Sat 175 min $110
Fri 150 min $95
Flowerfields- Sat 185 min $180
Fri 160 min $150
Giorgio's-Sat 150 min $127.50
Fri 150 min $115.50
Atlantica-they have different packages these prices are for the smallest package-They also do not have Sat. nights in JUly August because of the hotel they're in-Fri $125-131
Villa Lombardi's- Sat 150 min $119
Fri 150 min $89

I hope these are helpful.

Leonards is really beautiful!!

I was really tunred off by their BM Antonio (sp??)

So needless to say I didn't book with them.

I think LIW bride (Cubanbride) got married there... do a search for her review. I don't think she had any problems.

I went to a June wedding last year @ Leonards, they had a lot of food for the CH, there was another wedding there. That's aturn off for me, I want us to be the only wedding party. I think that's why. We all used the same bathroom, needless to say I felf like I spent 1/2 the nite in the ladies .

The food was good and the room was beautifull, I loved the chandelier in the lobby

Hello and Congratulations!

I read your post and noticed you want smike/fog at your party.... From experience (my fiance and I owned a professional photo lab) all pictures of wedding parties with fog- don;t come out so good, they lack color and density and are basically grey. So just some advice, think about it.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Hi all,
I've seen a lot of great info on these places, so THANK YOU!
However, maybe this is the passivity in me... but how exactly do you negotiate? I got a quote of 115pp for Sept sat night and the Roslyn Claremont (silver package) and $155 for the gold--not much difference between the two packages.
When we decide on a place (I've only seen 4 so far) and we love it but it's a little out of our budget, how do you talk them down? I think I can manage 'upgrades' but I don't know how to work for less.
Any suggestions?

Hi Girls,

In browsing this thread I found Lessing's (does catering for Bourne Mansion and other places). Has anyone hosted an event at one of the places or been to one of their restaurants? Most of the places have really good prices. http://www.lessing.com/catering.htm

Thanks!

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

We booked our wedding at West Sayville Golf Course for 9/2007 and they gave us a good deal. Everyone is nice there.

We decided to have our wedding there because my dad worked there for years and years. He passed away due to cancer in 1996.
I felt this would be the perfect place for our wedding and that september would be the perfect month for us to get married.

West Sayville Golf Course is owned by lessings.

Charlotte L. Hlavac

Oheka castle I heard is 200/pp + 10,000 site fee. The woodlands was much better at $115pp for a October Friday Night.

When you negotiate you have to make sure that you dont ask for things you mosr demand without being stupid about it
We had no problem and were able to negotiate prices down at every place that we went to by at least 10 pp
Its more a matter of making them WANT your business, if you love the place tell them-I reallly have my heart set on this place-is there anything you can do for me as far as price is concerned or maybe throw in ........ make sure you know what you want them to throw in before you do that-otherwise you will wish you got the viennese hour instead of chair covers

Thank you! My fi and I absolutely loved the Harrison House, but I don't think we'd be able to afford the $180pp price tag! I still have a few more places to see, so hopefully we can find somehting we love just as much that's more in our budget!
