Thanks! Yes, I am very detail oriented... did you post pictures of your centerpieces yet? Did you use high or low? CH said they'd provide the menus for my guests... did you use theirs or make your own?

I love this planning :)

I did use low centerpieces but I definitely make sure it was really filled with roses I went allout for my centerpieces because these are things that stands out. I made sure the tables were filled with rose petals and it had tapered candles on each table. I had my menu cards professionally done because I was really thriving for elegance.

I just got married September 4, 2005. I had the perfect outdoor ceremony. Just pray because I hope you will have beautiful weather so you can have your ceremony by the lake because it is magnificent especially for pictures. Your pictures will look as if it is from a magazine with the lake and the beautiful greenery.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for --- did you and your husband see each other before the ceremony and take your pix outside then instead of missing cocktail hour?

We did not see each other before the ceremony so we took our pictures during most of the CH but we did not mind.

which photographer did you use? i'm about to book silverfox.... EVERYONE has encouraged me to see each other beforehand, and I really don't want to do it, but am afraid we won't get all our pix done if we don't do it that way....

Well I did use Pringle's Studio and the photographers did lay out the plan on how we can get our pictures done and still managed to get a few minutes of our CH.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Hey, I knew to the boards and I'm addicted already!!

So far I have gone to see The Fountainhead which is New Rochelle in Westchester. Really nice place, but my FH saw a mouse run across the dance floor. They quoted us $155 which included tax and grat. for a Sat. night in Nov/Dec 2007 for 300 ppl.

We tried to see Ventian Yacht Club last week (the old John Anthony's) but the roads were flooded when we tried to get there. Over the phone they quoted me $100 for a Sat. in Nov/Dec 07.

Some other phone quotes I got: (all for 300 ppl on a Sat.)
1. Chateau La Mer - $80 plus t & g for Nov & Dec
2. North Ritz Club - $125 plus t & g for Nov & $100 plus t & g for Dec
3. Marina Del Rey - $120 plus t & g for Nov & Dec
4. Glen Island - $155 plus t & g for Nov & Dec
5. Milleridge Inn - high 100's to low 120's plus t &g (that's what they told me over the phone) fo Nov & Dec
6. Floral Terrace - $105 plus t & g for Nov. and $100 plus t & g for Dec.

I have appts. w/Floral Terrace, North Ritz and Fox Hollow on Friday.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

I have to agree with you on Jericho Terrace. I went there on a Sat with my sister to look at it for the first time. I really liked it because I was originally going to do a Dec wedding and it had alot of places to take pics inside. When I went back the next day with my mom and FH they completely brushed us off. I wanted ROb who I spoke to on Sat and even made an appt with him instead they gave me Chad, who tried to tell me that if I didn't book right then my date would be gone. It really reminded me of a sleazy carsales man. I would never go back there again

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Chad did the same thing to me when my fiance and I went in there. He told me if I didnt book right away my date would be gone. Then when I went with another hall, he called to see if I was still interested. When I told him I booked Terrace on the Park, he quickly dismissed me and basically told me "good luck" and hung up. I am so glad I chose elsewhere, even though JT is beautiful

I can't believe the same thing happened to you. It just seems that all they view us as another pay check. They never called me after I left that day. I'm getting married at Venetian Yacht Club which was taken over by Terrace on the Park

Oheka Castle I believe is $11,000 just for the grounds and then between $300-$500 per person.

Jericho Terrace $99 non negotioable? I just wanted to let you know that every price is negotiable. Trust me, try it. Tell them you are going with whoever gives you the cheapest price.
My date was a Sunday in August but they offered it to me at $60 or $55 I cant remember. I talked them down at least $15pp.

Dont ever take the first price they give you. You CAN get it down much lower.

Sat night at East Winds Country Gardens in summer $59
Timberpoint - I believe was $55
Windows on the lake and beach club estate I believe was $55...

talk talk talk them down. It works - just try it.

timberpoint quoted me for my october 06 wedding over $115 pp!

Sounds like NY Bride is the Neg. Queen

she booked her hall just a few months before the date. halls were just trying to fill their datebooks, therefore, she got some amazing prices.
