sell it. You have pics and you will never wear it again. At least someone else could get use out of it. JMO

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

I'll be keeping mine even though I know I'll never wear it again. But I'm sentimental and will either save it for someone else to wear or use some of the fabric to make my babies their christening gowns.

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

Mine has a removable brooch so i can always have a piece of my dress!! I am sentimental too so i want to keep it but i actually read about a store in manhatten you can donate your dress to and they'll sell it and all the proceeds are donated to breast cancer research. I would like to do that. My dad wants me to put it on ebay. We'll see what happens.

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

If you promised your mom you would sell it, I assume its because your mom wants some of that $6K back. If you are unwilling to sell it, than I would pay your mom back as much as you would have sold it for at the very least.

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

How are you going to sell it? I had the same idea about my dress but when I went on ebay and saw how little people were getting for their dress!! Here is another idea. You could always turn your wedding dress into a christening dress for your dghter or niece. (if your are a Catholic/Protestian that is)

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

I would sell it. You will end up saving yourself a lot of $$$ (not getting it preserved, etc.)

When I was debating buying a 6k wedding dress I promised myself I would sell it bc I couldnt rationalize spending that much.

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

Could you maybe just pay her back the money you have sold it for? $6,000 you might have a daughter who might want to wear it. Do you have a pic?

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

If I sell it I will get most of my money back, it is a Amalia Carrara dress. The color is champagne gold I dont think if I have a child she might like that color. I was thinking about selling it to a wedding salon or ebay

I'm not selling mine. Yes, I will never wear it again, but just like I'm wearing my mothers veil, You never know.

Re: SHOULD I SELL MY WEDDING DRESS ?

Well, think of it this way. What are you going to do with it if you don't sell it? If your answer is nothing, it will sit in the closet, then sell it.
If you think you will actually do something else with it, then keep it.
If you decide to keep it, I would pay your mom back $$.

Being that you said you 'forced' mom into buying it....it's sort of like a promise you made to her.

Sell it back - no need to cause hostility between you and your mom over something you'll never wear again.

I know you have sentimental feelings towards it (obviously) but practicality kicks in when it's someone else who purchased it for you.
