Wearing your veil at the Reception??

BTW has anyone ever been to a reception where the bride wore her veil at reception.
If you did, did you think it was weird???

I really , really want to do this, but I have never seen it done.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

I have seen many brides do it!!! It is all about preference...I am not sure what I am going to do...My veil attachs to the back of my head so it is not going to be in the way...

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

I think I am doing this. At first I wasn't even getting a veil, but it really completed the look. If it gets annoying, I will take it off, but I paid good money for that veil and am getting my $$$ worth

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

I've seen it done before, but only with short veils. I dont think it looks weird. I am taking my veil off so I can be able to dance and move around at the reception. My dress has a trains: thats already one thing I have to drag around.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

Yes, one of my good friends wore it the whole time. She loved the veil so much she didn't want to take it off, it was her favorite part of her bride ensemble. I don't think anyone thought it was weird.

Personally, I am not going to wear it the whole time because I think it will be annoying and I also love the back of my dress, and if I wear the veil, it will cover it.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

When my girlfriend got married 2 years ago, she wore her veil through the entire reception. It was an antique full length lace number. She carried it over her arm all night and by the end of the night she said it felt like it weighed a hundred pounds but she loved it so much she wouldn't take it off. So its really about preference and how much you love it. I don't intend to wear mine after the church but you never know I may love it and not want to take it off.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

Many brides, including me, do this. I wore mine for the first dance and through the reception for about 2 hours...I took it off for the cake cutting. I have pics of the 'night' in my review...

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

Most of the time I see brides leave it on for the reception, and that's what I plan on doing. I don't think I've ever seen a bride take it off!

I think of my grandma bc of this topic, she says it's the veil that makes the bride, otherwise you're just a girl in a white dress.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

Well my veil will be no longer than fingertip length. What I think I will do is wear it for the first hour and if it gets annoying then I will remove it. I will not be wearing a head piece because I personally don't like them but I may get nice fancy hairpins so that if I do decide to take the veil off I will have something in my hair.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

a ton of ppl keep it on....actually, i am not keeping mine on and ppl told me they thought that was weird...i think it is just personal preference and if you have a long veil (cathedral or chapel) it can be bustled like your dress

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??

I had no intention to keep my veil on during the reception but when my hair stylist jammed the comb in my head so hard and pinned it so much that i didnt even want to think about taking it off until the whole thing was over. But it worked out fine and it only bothered me when I took pictures and someone would put there arm around my back and tug on the veil. But i didnt look silly and mostly I was fine with it on.
