WEDDING CENTER IN COMMACK!
I just went there, and everything just seemed to be too good. You know that saying, 'If it's too good to be true, it probably is.'Can you tell me anything about this place? Thanks! I just am a little weary.

Re: WEDDING CENTER IN COMMACK!
I'm not all that familiar with the Wedding Center, but there is also Wedding World in Commack off Austin Blvd (off of Motor Parkway) and they offer the same sort of amenities - tuxes, invites, HM TA's, bridesmaid, bridal, MOB, MOG dresses, wedding favors, etc. Helen's Boutique is located here as well and I ordered my BM dresses and they were perfect/flawless and they gave us one on one attention the day we tried everything on and gave the girls a discount on the dresses. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I went there too. The owner was a LITTLE TOO MUCH!! They seem like they could have good buys for all of the little things. Not the dresses, DJ, photos, flowers etc....

Funny you should mention the owner (bob?) my FH couldn't STAND him!! Thought he was WAAAY too pushy and he kept asking us over and over again while we were sitting there going over package prices with him, 'so, where are you getting married again??' even after we had just reminded him 5 minutes earlier (on about 4 different occassions)! That just gave me a bad vibe....

Re: WEDDING CENTER IN COMMACK!
it's like all wedding centers--you hear good...you hear bad. i am using them for a photo/video pkge. i've seen their previous work, and the album that one of my BM's got from them was gorgeous.if i bought a dress from them, i would have it altered somewhere else. but otherwise, i see nothing wrong with them. in my eyes, a place that's been in business 30+ years in the wedding industry, is doing something right.

I agree. I've heard worse things about 'nicer' stores like Bridal Reflections... like wedding gowns FALLING APART during someone's wedding!

IMO, that's 100,000x worse than anything I have heard about the CWC!

OMG!! i know!! on the knot LI boards--i think last month a girl got a dress from either there or some other 'fancy' place--and she spent 45 min. during her reception being sewn into her gown when the zipper came undone!
seriously--CWC has received a bad rap from ppl who spread the rumors of someone else's experience. (i.e.--'I heard that a girl had this problem.' or 'People say this..') I mean yeah i admit the dress dept. can get crazy, but otherwise they are great and offer great prices for those of us who can't afford to spend like $5-6K on photo alone.
(not dissing those that can--if you can more props to ya.)

Re: WEDDING CENTER IN COMMACK!
I've heard lots of bad things too. I picked out my dress there and did a little research and decided I definately didn't want to buy it there. They have no cap on alterations and charge you a fee if you don't pick the dress up immediately. I can't stand Bob either...so irritating.

Re: WEDDING CENTER IN COMMACK!
There is a cap on alterations at the wedding center. It is $55. I felt that the sales people their were helpful and honest. I could have afforded to go somewhere else for dresses, but I felt that other places were so pushy and phony (bridal reflections) that I wanted to be somewhere where you knew the owner. Bob is pushy, but he's not phony. That's key. Anyway, you'll hear a million opnions, but I know that I had a good experience there, and I'm sure others too, or it wouldn't have been in business for 30+ years. I met Bob, his daughter (who's really cool), etc.Welcome New Vendors
