nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

Just curious...I mean, it just seems like really nice clothes are sooo expensive. Are we all buying them??? I'm sick of shopping in cheap stores and having my clothes look like crapola after two washes!?!

What is your favorite clothing store? And is anyone paying over $100 or $150 for jeans?

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

There is no way I'd pay over 100 for jeans!!! I really like NY & co. and they always have sales going on. Clothing is something I don't spend a lot on individual items but probably have $1,000's worth of clothes all together.

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

Fav stores - Express, BR and BCBG. I have never spent over $75 for jeans (I would much rather save that splurge $$$ for sweaters or bags or shoes!)

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

I'm a proud $100+ jeans spender. It should be said, though, that I wear jeans to work about 4 days a week, plus I wear them on the weekends, so I get a lot of wear out of them. And I look GOOD in them.

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

I used to shop every weekend, mostly at Mandee. I always have coupons for there! I personally have never spent more than $50 on a pair of jeans, but I have a few friends who buy them for $150-200. But I feel the same way as you, I'm sick of not being able to shop where I want to. I love clothes, but I would hate to spend let's say $50 on a shirt, just for the quality, then be sick of it 2 months later!

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

I spent about $150 for jeans several years ago. However, right now the only jeans I have were really cheap. I don't wear jeans as much anymore. I'm considering buying a high end pair again but I am wondering if I will get much use out of them. I know what you mean about prices of clothing. To buy the super nice stuff becomes a major investment.

And if I do want to buy a high end pair of jeans, what brands should I look for? I don't want to go into a small boutique, lay out $200 thinking I'm getting good quality designer stuff, then find I was tricked and they have the same thing at Marshalls for $30.

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

ok, I went shopping today (had off from work) and I was shocked at how little I got for where I shopped...

I spent

$178 at Loehmanns (got a lot of bang for my buck here) :) Got one pair of pants, a cashmere Juicy Couture wrap sweater, a tank top and a bra.

$175 at Arden B - got 2 pairs of earrings, a necklace, and a white jacket - they had a promotion going on that if you spend $200+, you get $50 off (thank god)

and then I spent $200 at Bebe - got a skirt and a blouse!!!!

I spetn $553 today and I didn't get that much - yes, it is ridiculously expensive out there, and I don't really consider where I shopped to be 'high-end' stores.

Oh well - I justifiied it because I was shopping for my 2 showers and my bachelorette party, so it was WR :)

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

Ok I went HM clothes shopping during tax free week and got 3 tops for under $20. I won't spend more than $30 on a pair of jeans. I shop Wal-Mart, Target, and department stores; including the clearance racks. No shame in that! I can't see laying out so much $$ for that stuff, my clothes last for years!! Same thing with shoes and bags, I just don't get the hype.

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

I'm the same way. I only buy clothing when it's on a major sale. Whenever I find a good deal, I stock up even if I don't necessarily need the item. In fact if I find a good buy on jeans or something and they fit really well, I'll buy a few pairs. I have a ton of clothes and most of it I got pretty cheap, however if I paid retail for these same pieces they would have been pretty costly. I don't have a problem with finding a good fit,- clothes fit me pretty well,- half of the time I don't even try them on. Oh, and by the way, right now NY & Co. is having a great sale. I'd rather splurge on a nice expensive piece of jewelry,- it lasts forever, and also save for my house.

Re: nwr - how much do you spend on clothes?

I love express for work clothes, and I don't normally like H&M but I recently bought 4 sweaters there for 14.50 each.. I love the way Bebe suits fit and their clothes are just adorable.. but with saving for the wedding and all.. I am not spending as much time in the stores I really love and just trying to make good use out of what I have.. I bought a few staple items, so I am ok for now.. I am dying to shop.. you have no idea..
I usually spend about $150 on jeans but the last 2 pairs I got were on sale in National Jean Co and I got a pair of 150 7's for 99 bucks and a pair of 148 hudsons for 108.. so not bad..

I spend $150+ on jeans. I don't consider my favorite shops high end it's just the price of things nowadays.

Too much

And if you ask my FH...WAY too much.

I love Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus...The last pair of jeans I bought was $185...eeeek.

I've totally cut back since FH and I got together though.

I second this! I love NY & Co. clothing. I would buy out the store if I could!!!! I buy most of my dressy and work clothing from them.

My other store is Victoria's Secret (online & catalog). There's the typical lingerie thing, but I buy sweaters and tops from them and I love the quality!!!!!!!!
