WOW! snob alert on the knot- LOL

this is a c & p from a post on the north jersey knot board... my advice to all the future brides, is don't expect anything in terms of gifts, or you'll end up disappointed and @itchy like this girl!

'We had two couples who gave a 30 dollar gift for both people.

One that gave 100 for three.

Another one that gave 150 for three people.

What is wrong with people? If you don't have money to cover your plate and you are not immediate family or a really close friend, do not come to my wedding and get 5 hours open bar, cocktail hour, five course dinner, two desserts, dancing all night-etc. It is just low class and wrong. And now we have that much less money for a condo.'

i mean i understand being dissappointed, but come on! don't plan such a huge wedding if its gonna make that much of a difference in affording a condo!
DHs family is all from out in western PA, and the average gift from his side was about $50 per couple... sure, i would have like to get more... but come on! at least they made the 5 hour trip to celebrate with us, and i was grateful for whatever they gave...

FH and i are planning our wedding for us---NOT the gifts. as a matter of fact i know that a lot of our family from both sides probably won't give us anything, since they may not have it. do i care? not in the least. that girls makes me SICK

I know that I am inviting some people that can't cover their plates. I am inviting them because I love them and want them to share in my day. That was extremely rude of her to say!

We had several guests who have very little money. One guest gave us $20. And for us, it wasn't about the money. We were just happy that they could join us.

Expecting to 'make money' at your wedding is silly. I guess this bride is just going to have to 'scrimp' to afford her condo.

at our e-party, someone gave us a $40 gift card to pottery barn and a bottle of honey in one of those bear bottles (the friend calls FH a bear)....someone snarky thought it was a cheap gift...well, it was the cheapest gift....but i loved it...gave me a chance to go into pottery barn and buy stuff!!!
