Anybody have ideas (themes) for a SUMMER wedding

FH and I are getting married in July 2008 and we are starting our wedding planning. We thought we wanted a color theme but I think we want more than a color. Can anyone give me any ideas? I love orchids, gerbera daisies, and butterflies...but I would also like to make it not too girlie for the FH LoL
We are getting married at the Swan Club and I dont think our original idea of a Coral, Pink, and White theme would work there?

There are a lot of ideas out there that you can use for a summer theme. You can use shells and light summery colors, maybe for favors do 'beach bags' with sun screen and a float and a towel and flip flops or something. Have the DJ or band play some songs maybe during cocktail hour (if they are playing the cocktail hour) that are summer themed or if you are not have them play during CH then if you can maybe hire a steel drum band. My friend did this and people were actually dancing during her cocktail hour and claimed it was the best they had ever been to because of the steel drum band. Maybe make a signature drink be like rum punch or sangria or something fruity.

I had trouble choosing a theme so I decided to do all sorts of things lol. My wedding could not be defined with a theme.

I really wanted blues and greens and butterflys but didnt want it to get out of hand. So I purchased these beautiful butterfly pin's that we are turning into necklaces for the bridesmaids and then one into my hair piece.
Then we have wine
Im doing different colours in the range of blues and greens.

My center pieces are Large floral pieces with white flowers and then colored gems at the bottom.

Then we have Wine stopper Favors and to continue that theme a bit our name tag's are crackers and the gift inside is a wine charm for the bottom of the glass in our colours.

You dont have to do 1 theme or stick to one idea. Most things work together well.

So I say, Have fun. Choose things you like and then some things he would like. Their are so many things that can create a summer theme

Thanks for the ideas...sorry i am so late to respond...been busy running around doing errands. FH and I finally decided on a Hawaiian/Tropical theme for the wedding using bold bright colors and tropical flowers. Any ideas on a bouquet for me and the bridesmaids ? We found a possible centerpiece already w/ orchids, Anthuriums, Ginger, and Birds of Paradise. I will try to get a pic up if I can. I need more Hawaiian Theme ideas I would like some DIY projects to if any of you girls know of any!

LoL you sound just like me. I was driving my mom insane with coming up w/ different ideas ,colors and themes everyday. I love everything LoL. But we decided to have a Hawaiian/Tropical theme since we are planning to Honeymoon in Hawaii. That seemed pretty easy for a theme huh? It was actually FH's idea He's so smart, i love him lol
