Anything you wish you could have changed/prevented from your wedding???? (mines long!)

All and all, my wedding was perfect and I really should not complain. BUT…. I have one thing that still bothers me to this day that I really didn’t notice until I saw our raw footage from the video. (this may sound silly to some!)

My Bustle was not bustled right at the wedding. I spent all of this time with my seamstress designing my bustle. I decided to do a low French bustle with many points. She also turned my champagne sash into this big bow. It was the most beautiful bustle I have ever seen. It was really puffy with a lot of layers and then on top sat this big bow. Also very $$$$$! I loved it so much.

Anyway, at the wedding my bridal attendant bustled it for me really fast. Within 5 minutes it was done and I didn’t think anything of it (A pro-yeah right!). That is until I watched my video. I just about cried when I realized it was sloppy and just pinned up any which way. I ran upstairs to my dress at this point and turned it around and there was that sloppy bustle. I fixed it right then and there, a little late!!!

The worst part if this all is that my seamstress was at the wedding. She didn’t even say anything (FH's older cousin). My SIL was the only who knew how to bustle if from my seamstress and she didn’t even notice the day of and then had the nerve to say 'that is disgusting' when we watched some of the video. I don’t know why this still gets me so upset every time I think about it. I mean, everyone else says they didn’t even notice. I still always get upset about how beautiful it could have been.

I know there are bigger things to worry about, but I guess I just needed to vent. Maybe this will help me forget it!!!

Re: Anything you wish you could have changed/prevented from your wedding???? (mines long!)

the same thing happened to me. But I bustled my own dress quickly. I put them all on the right hooks so technically it was bustled correctly. Only thing is after it was bustled you had to put these two points in and pull the middle part yourself with your hands. I did it quickly during pics and didnt notice until we got to the hotel at the end of the night, that the middle part wasnt really showing and just wasnt how its supposed to look. I did get one pic in the hotel room, made dh take a pic so i can have just 1 that shows it properly.

Its ok, i just figure that most ppl probably wouldnt have paid too much attention regardless.

I can see why it bothers you, but you looked absolutely stunning on your wedding day and the dress looked gorgeous, didnt effect your whole look at all.

Thank you!! You looked beautiful as well. Well, that makes me feel a little better At least I know I'm not the only one! That was very smart to have DH take that last pic at the hotel room

you're welcome, and i looked at your pics after to really look at the bustle and didnt see anything wrong with it. Im sure its not how you wanted it but at least it didnt look bad and all weird.

Thank you so much.

Hey you can get dressed again and take a pic with it bustled properly, gives you an excuse to put the dress on now

I just looked at yours and your bustle looked great! I think I saw the pic at the hotel room with the correct bustle-I love it! I was thinking about taking a picture with the correct bustle. But I already had my dress preserved and they did such a good job I don't want to open it up!!! I also don't think I would fit into my dress right now since I have put on some extra pounds since the wedding!!!! We'll see, I will be sure to post some pics if I ever decide to put it on again!!!

my bustle also wasn't exactly the same as when it was done by my seamstress, but it still looked nice so it didn't bother me (it just wasn't as 'poofy').....but I can understand how you feel after watching the raw footage......I already dread seeing a few things on our video that I know bothered me on the day of (I just put in our video order, so I have yet to see it lol).....mostly I'm dreading seeing the mistakes by our DJ.....playing the wrong wedding song for my IL's to commemorate their 40th anniversary, playing the wrong song for our cake cutting and also not playing the songs on my must play list (I didn't expect to hear ALL of them, but there was a half dozen or so that I had in bold as must must play songs). as far as prevention for these mishaps, I think I would've been more of a pain in the neck with the DJ before the day of and not trsut them as much as I did.

Re: Anything you wish you could have changed/prevented from your wedding???? (mines long!)

of course I have to be different . . .
I had no train ( sorta wished I did but oh well ) at least no bustle problem.

what I would have chagned tho - - we went into CH and let bridall att get plates for us. So many people stopped to talk to me I didn't get to sample enough! in do over I would have gone to CYH gotten my own plate hid in suite to eat and then come out for latter part of CH to mingle. didn't drink enough or have the desserts

we had substitute DJ since original was ill but we didn't knnow til he showed up!!!. would have liked to talk to him about must play songs . . DH didn't get his played and German girl here no polkas.

but in scheme of thigs that's all minor minor minor. but I really would like an invite to Larkfield Manor for the food!!!

Fixing my bustle when my photographer told me to! I refused and he was right, I regret it now.

ummmm I wish I ate more, I got to eat but didnt eat as much as I would have liked.

I wish I had kept my cathedral veil on, but I was sweating and sooo gross that it had to come off!

Getting my period that morning~yea that I would definitely like to go back and change

Yes i had a similiar situation to yours...but I completely forgot to open my train for the ceremony...that was the only reason i made one so i can open it for the ceremony and then pin it back into my dress for the reception. I wish i had remembered to open it or wish my DOC wouldve reminded me

Mine's similar to yours as well. I had a sash on my dress that was supposed to wrap around my waist TWICE. The seamstress showed me, my Mom and ALL of my Bridesmaids how to tie it properly. It also helped make my figure look more like an hourglass. I loved it.

Day of.... we only wrapped it around once. It looked pathetic and ridiculous and I cringe at many of the photos. The sash is hanging too low in so many of the photos and it was so thin it did nothing to accentuate my figure or the dress!!

I will look for a pic, but I really don't have a good one. The photographers prob notices and were like, 'stay clear of that bustle!!!' -just kidding:)
Let's hear them so we can make you feel better!

It is so annoying she didn't remind you. I mean, she was hired for that. To this day I still get upset that my sil (that came with me to every fitting) didn't check my bustle. How are we suppose to remember it all on the day off
