refresh my memory on those 'win a free trip' for Brides..things..

My brother recently got engaged and OF COURSE they are now getting calls, 'come in and you will get a 3day vacation to xyz..' I never went to them when I was called. it was just companies trying to sell their (home) products. and plus you had to pay airfare, so it was more trouble than it was worth...

did anyone actually get something good out of these? or do we agree that he is wasting his time ?

He is most certainly wasting his time. That stuff is usually a scam.
