One Of The Most Positive Things Of 911

From reading all the stories and remembering September 11,2001 i would have to say having a cell phone was one of the many ways many had the chance to say good-bye

Thank -God many had the cell phone that day.

I agree Alexandria---but I cannot imagine the people who could nto speak to them, who got an answering machine message...those played in my head for a looon loong time

September 11th was the reason WHY my dad and stepmom got cell phones. My dad's inability to get in touch with his wife (who was in the first tower hit) for almost a full day, freaked him the f*ck out.

I think for our generation this will be the hardest day for us!!! Just as Pearl Harbor was hard for other generations.

I don't think time will ever make September 11th stop affecting us. IMO it was the day I lost my innocence in a sense.

Swags, I feel the same way. I feel bad for children that will know this their whole lives.

As for something postive from the day - the fact that rescue workers were turned into real life heros vs. sports stars in the eyes of children.

Mine & DH's cell phones were barely working, I had such a difficult time reaching him all day

Jaime--you said it well!! I lost my sense of innocence that day too! And up until then I would dream about when I have a family....but that dreadful day just made me scared for what my childrens future would be like living in terror..I had a carefree childhood and I would want my children to have the protected and carefree childhood too!!
