Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

I know we're completely biased, but I really do feel like CLM is the best kept secret! I just can't get over how much you get for your money there. Its such a beautiful place and the food is great! I've heard nothing but good reviews about it.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Same here... you can't beat what they give you for the price, or the service. Plus the place is just gorgrous! SO many places are dark and windowless and CLM is the opposite. We only looked there- nowhere else.

Someone I worked with was supposed to get married there, and another ocuple at work is getting married there this October. It's nice to be able to chat with them not only about the wedding but the great place too ;)

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Anyone know that Lavender Studios was a house vendor for CLM? When I called yesterday to make an appointment, he told me they were... When we booked we got that folder with all the info in it, but nothing about Lavender... strange.

What vendors are you guys using? Just curious! :)

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Honestly, I never even looked in the package to see who the house vendors were. I had already been scoping this site out and had people in mind I wanted to visit. Last time I went I told Nick we were starting our DJ search and he asked if we had seen the house vendor yet and I was like, who?

Artisan Photo group -- Pics and Video
Jack & Rose -- Florist
High Voltage Sounds -- DJ

Anybody been there lately and seen the latest work???? I'm dying to go, but I promised myself no till June when it's done.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

The folder that we had didn't have any info about Lavender but he said he is a house vendor.

I met the house DJ when we went to the food tasting. We went with Variety Music because we know one of the MCs.

For flowers we are using Burtons... Photography we are still looking around! Have seen four people and want to see two more before making a decision, although so far we are leaning towards Proline.

We have a payment due in a week so we will be back again with our camera ;)

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Another CLM bride here. I wouldn't have picked another place - It is absolutely amazing. The food is great, the price is great, the view is beautiful and most of all Lou, Nick and George are the best!! Can't wait for the Big Day.
I remember being the only CLM bride on here - I can't believe how popular that place has become.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

I knew it was the place as soon as I walked in. George and Nick were one of the top reasons I booked so fast. The whole place was exactly what I wanted. Also my church is on Wellwood Avenue, and I live off of North Wellwood Avenue, so convenience and the gorgeous place. There was no question of where to get married.

Vendors Using:
Dance Jock-DJ
Proline Studios-Photo/Video
That's It for now.

One of my best friends went to a wedding at Chateau on Friday, and said the food was AWFUL. I was quite surprised, so I am calling today to see why. Anyone else hear that? I have only heard incredible things about he place.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

I'm getting very upset with CLM. For 6 months now they have been telling me that the stupid chapel is 'Going to be done next month. The spinkler guys is coming next week.' How many times can the sprinkler guy come? And, last time I went, I was told by Nick that If I came the beginning of June, I would be able to see everything complete. YEAH RIGHT! We were in the area one night and saw there was a food tasting so I walked in...a good protion of the stuff they said they'd be doing and would be done by the end of May for the summer brides was non-existant!
We had friends go to wedding there over Memorial Day weekend and the feedback we got was, 'The drinks tasted bad, stuff at cocktail hour was burnt, and that because people were dancing, the waitors never bothered to try and take their dinner orders, so they just brought out whatever dishes they felt like for them.'
They are making me very nervous!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

People I work with were just there last weekend and loved it. They said the service was great and the food was delicious! Maybe your friend was just there on a bad night.

As for the chapel, I don't know much about it cuz we're not using it... don't worry too much yet-- at least you have until next February for them to work their butts off :) Try not to worry, I'm sure things will get done.

We won't be going there again until the end of July... Anyone going anytime before then?

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

I know, I know, I know...I keep telling myself the same thing...I have till February. It's not making me feel better!
Anyways, nobody is happy with everything at every hall and you have to expect someone to say something negative. And that was the only bad reviews I'd ever heard, so that doesn't have me worried at all.
We go back middle of July...Hopefully there will be something new to report!
