Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Don't listen to that. I went their for their new years party, and everything was great. One of their house djs were good, the ceaser salad was delicious. I would have booked there to but I didn't love the room (I'm having too many people for the downstairs dance floor or the upstairs room).Oh well...

I have no idea when the next tasting is... I'd love to back to another with a few close friends, but then again, it would be nice for them to be surprised when the wedding comes!Yay! Another CLM bride!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I believe we were told food tastings were every other Wednesday. But then again, we were told lots of things that haven't been true. I'm very, very, very upset with CLM. I'm going next week...I hope my next post is a better one.

No, we both went and brought the parents before we booked. It just happened that I said we wanted to come in and speak with them on Wednesday and Nick said there was a food tasting, so why don't we come and have dinner. Sure, why not!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
OK, so we went to CLM last night for the food tasting. All I can say is, delicious! I pray that the food is exactly the same quality on the wedding day because everything was great. They brought out a huge tray for just the two of us--we have leftovers for 2 weeks. This was not our first food tasting, but it was nice to experience again. Now, the biggie--the chapel. A little history: when we booked in October, Nick and George would not put the new chapel into our contract because they did not have all the permits yet. The last 3 times I've gone to leave deposits, I've gotten a different story from Nick. The last story, was that everything would be done in June. Well it's not. George told us the new bridal suite and the chapel would be done by the end of the year. He readily agreed to add it to our contract and if it wasn't done, we'd get full Vieneese hour for free. They were very nice an amenable to the whole thing. The one thing that did tick me off a bit was Nick's continual denial that he ever told me that it would be done in June. But, my mind is now at at ease.
Extra Info if anyone needs:
CLM is now doing the chocolate fountain! $750 flat fee.
CLM only has white linens. If you would like something else, they recommend Chair Covers and Linens (out of state and ships to them) and The Finishing Touch.
If you need an officiant, they recommend Rev. Michael Callahan (a vendor on here)
For those that asked, Vieneese is $15pp (I don't know if the price is different seasonally-a winter wedding does make things cheaper sometimes).

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I'm glad that the tasting was so good! I'm also glad things seem to be working out with the chapel, and at least you have some kind of promise from them if for any reason it isnt done. The other rooms there are beutiful so it couldn't be TOO bad of a thing!I'm SO glad to hear they have a chocolate fountain... Seriously may have to consider adding that! Vienese would be great but a little too much pp if you ask me :)
Thanks for sharing all the info! :)

Good luck with everything I really don't have any questions for you to ask them right now I guess because I have so long to go until my wedding August '05. But I hope everything goes smoothly for you tomorrow.
