Re: Official FMIL Issue Support Grouphere's ny issue. My FMIL doesn't like me. She said she won't even come to the wedding, but FH's sister said that if she has to she will "tie mom up, throw her in the car and drag her to the wedding". The thing is, I have no idea what I have done to this woman for her not to like me. I'm a very likable person; I don't have any enemies (at least to my knowledge). I thought that maybe she had an issue with me taking away her little boy, but i'm the one who's moving far away from my family; we're going to be living in the same town as her, so he'll still be able to drop in and visit her whenever. And other than her not liking me, I have no problems with his mom.

My issues include: (1) FMIL will not call our home, she only calls FH's cell; (2) FMIL lost her job 3 weeks ago and I spent all night fixing her resume -- did I get a thank you????" NO; (3) My sister had her first child on Sunday, did FMIL call me to express her best wishes for my family?? NO; (4) engagement/wedding gifts... has she bought ANYTHING for us off the registry -- that I worked hard to create??? NO -- she gets things she buys for her home, she got waffle iron, we got waffle iron | |||

Re: Official FMIL Issue Support GroupOh, that's nothin'!! My FMIL is trying to invite the ex to the wedding. She invites the ex to ALL family functions. She will not speak to me when she sees us. She only speaks to FH. She gave us a workbook/book for our engagement present, called "How To Know If Your Marriage Will Work." And, she left it at the ex's house so we had to go over there to get it.

Re: Official FMIL Issue Support GroupMy issue is that my MFIL is like a 'dead fish' she has no opinion on anytthing, hasn't gone with us to give an opinion on anything and doesn't seem to care that her only son & child is getting married! Her loss though since I'm pretty much done with planning everything. It makes me sad that my mom is sooooo excited about all this and his mom can care less. Oh well!

Re: Official FMIL Issue Support GroupNot that I am in ANY way a fan of Jane Fonda (can't STAND her actually), but I found myself watching "Monster-in-Law" late the other night. (at this point, I try to watch anything about weddings, and it was on after Starsky and Hutch, so I just fell into watching it). I think you all would be able to relate to some of the stuff in that movie. You'd probably get a good - and much needed - laugh out of it.

So lets recap my FMIL: (1) She's looking into buying a wedding dress for MY wedding (2) She's been mean and nasty to every vendor, thus embarassing me & my father and making me worry that the vendor will find a way to f-ck us the day of the wedding as revenge (3) She uses FH as a messenger to tell me things. TELL ME YOUR GODDAMN SELF! (4) She complains to FH about me -- the last time this happened I ended up speaking with her. I told her that if she has a problem with me she has to tell ME because FH can't rectify a problem that he has nothing to do with, and putting him in the middle isn't fair.

he is obviously still a little blind.. personally she is just as if not worse cause she can not even appologize for some of the very wrong things she has done.. only keep giving excusses usually "i am his mother"... personally that does NOT give her the right to treat another person like $hit, to be rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate and just plain selfish!!! or her famous "well, i dont know" it's like something takes over and she forgets what she does and just wont ackowledge it! She has crossed the line way too many times and far too frequently...
