I am sorry to hear that. I have been a 'leave replacement' in the same place for four years with my own classes each year for the full year. I am waiting to find out if someone is going to retire, and if so, if they will replace her with me. Everyone should go to the rally for education at Hofstra on the 24th! I will be there.

They (state) have put out a retirement incentive this year so your chances are looking up ! I am definitely going to the rally next week...ladies I know I posted this earlier but I'm saying it again cuz we can't afford not to stand up for what we believe in...please email Cuomo and keep telling him not to cut education...and email your senators too. I keep emailing and faxing them (through the NEA website)...as per the advice of our union...

I feel your pain! I too am being excessed. My district is laying off close to 400 teachers. I am actually driving to Albany w my union to fight for our jobs. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
