LIWeddings.com Interview With Infinite Video Productions

Infinite Video Productions

Interviewed Sep 2, 2008

"I want couples to receive not only something they expected, but to exceed their expectations."

Giving you more than you paid for both personally and professionally, is the “old-school” business philosophy that you can expect from Infinite Video Productions.

In fact, this in not only how they see themselves, but how many brides have been quoted when talking about them and their caliber of work.

1.What services do you offer?

Infinite Video offers many packages to cover an event whether it's a wedding, bar mitzvah, sweet 16 or any other type of event.  The packages listed on our web site are our most popular choices for our clients. Those packages include either 1 or 2 cameras and most packages are fully edited and include full day coverage from the ceremony to the end of the reception.  Editing is also included in all packages.

2.What are some of the latest trends in videography?

I think the latest trend in videography is to be discrete and yet be able to capture all the right moments.  This is also my #1 compliment from all my brides.  Lots of bright video lights are out.  We want to capture the natural look of what's going on, and the high end cameras we use today are good enough in low light to capture this.  We also shoot in 16:9 widescreen format for Hi-Def TVs so the picture isn't stretched.  During the editing process, I like to make the video not just interesting for the bride and groom to watch, but also make it interesting for their friends.  Fast cuts and transitions during the reception will keep your eyes glued to the screen, wile the dramatic music I use to make our openings set the mood early in the video for the ceremony.

3.How many video cameras do you usually take to a shoot?

The number of cameras we take on a shoot depends on the package.  We always carry a backup just incase.  So if it's a single camera shoot like 95% of the brides order, we'll have the working camera and a backup in case of equipment failure.  We always use the newest gear so I haven't needed to use the backup in the 12 years I've been in this business, but it's there just in case.

4.How long does it take to edit a package?

The amount of time that goes into editing makes a huge difference in the way the video looks and feels.  Our gold package is a single camera full edit, which takes us about 20 to 25 hours to edit.

5.What makes your work unique and/or exceptional?

Our work at Infinite Video is unique.  To make an exceptional video, it needs to be captured and edited the right way.   I shoot and edit every job personally so while I'm shooting, I'm thinking about what I will do with the shot when it's being edited.  This leads to smooth flowing transitions from one scene to the other.  I also like to capture unique perspectives for a very dramatic look.  This comes across very well in the videos.

6.What can couples expect when they work with you?

Couples working with Infinite Video can expect everything THEY would expect a videographer to do and then some.  The booking process is very easy and simple.  Since I meet with the couples and then I'm there for them on the wedding day, it becomes a very personal friendly experience.

7.Do you offer any special effects, especially during the editing process?

A video isn't complete without some kind of special effects.  I'm not talking about corny effects either.  We like to use dramatic types of effects to enhance the mood of each shot.  Some examples would be an old film look during some of the portraits or a strobe during a hip-hop dance song at the reception.

8.Do you shoot in both black and white and colour?

Black and white is one of the effects that we use to tell our couples story.

9.Tell us about some of the most creative projects you’ve done and how couples can work with you to help make all the magic happen.

Every wedding we shoot is unique and a creative project in it's own.  I try to make every wedding video we make better than the last, so I'd like to think whichever wedding we've shot last is the most creative.  Recently, I've started doing some really dramatic openings to the videos. Some examples should be on the website any day now.

10.When should a couple book with you?

A couple should book with us as soon as they think they want a videographer for their wedding.  I shoot every job we book.  I can't be in 2 places at once, so if a couple books me for the day I will turn down anyone else interested in that date.  Quality over quantity is what a couple expects and will receive.  If a couple thinks their date is too close and there is no way that we'll be available, it can't hurt to call and find out if we're available.
