isnt it great that we have the right to on a forum such as this?
;) Yes...especially considering women in our own country didn't have the right to vote until 1920.

Good point - if it took that long for women to gain the right to vote in a FREE country like ours, imagine how long and arduous the progress will be in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.... but freedom and democracy is being spread slowly.... I believe that will someday counteract terrorism and Islamic extremism.

Re: A letter to John Kerry -- in today's NY Post
Okay here I go.This letter is certainly touching and I think it is a great example of our freedom of speech. I think that Mr. Dunleavy is failing (and who can blame him he just sent his son to war) to remember that John Kerry, Jane Fonda and the rest of the USA has the same right that he has utilized.
I happen to agree with Kerry. I think that Bush led America astray. He stood before us and talked about a war on terror and then before the mission was accomplished spread our troops thin by starting a war in Iraq. A country that had a serial killer for a leader( not the only country where this is true), but has never attacked the US. A country that had no WMD's and no links to AL Queda. Sorry, but I have to agree with Kerry no matter how I look at it it just seems wrong.

Re: A letter to John Kerry -- in today's NY Post
The new developments in the missing weapons in Iraq may hurt Kerry more than Bush - it is now being reported that they were removed before we were there and furthermore it proves that Iraq was stockpiling weapons - does it not?

The question wasn't whether they were stockpiling weapons. It was whether they were stockpiling and production weapons of mass destruction- which they were NOT. Of course they were going to have weapons of SOME kind- they had a military... did we expect them to train with water guns? The fact that Guiliani stated that it was the soldiers fault for not looking hard enough is gross. He's lost ALL respect to me. We send soldiers over there grossly unprepared and now he's saying our soldiers are at fault for not doing their job? Jerk!
Look, Hussein was a bad man.. No doubt. He did kill his own people. Yes, and that's bad. And it would be admirable if we went over to liberate Iraqis b/c of that. But if that was the case, why do we ignore other countries with horrible conditions for so long- like Afghanistan pre 9/11 or what's going on in Sudan? Because we have no interest there.
All intelligence points to the fact that Saddam wasn't supporting the terrorists and that in reality the money is coming from other sources- mainly rich Saudis.. but we never do anything about that either.
The question isn't whether we made the right decision to go into Iraq- the question is what are we going to do about it NOW- when our soldiers and 100s of innocent Iraqis are being killed daily. It's obvious to me that Bush is doing a damn crappy job as Commander In Chief right now... I can't see how he's made the world any safer since he took office.

That is an interesting website. I am glad that these women are finding freedoms that they did not have before, but I don't think that this is the issue. Bush did not go to the UN and say Saddam is a serial killer and I think we need to take him out and spread democracy. He stood in front of the world and said they had WMD's and links to Al Queda. He was wrong. We did not go into Iraq to free the people. Grated, if it ends up that way then great, but it was not our motivation. We were not being that noble.

I thought that was the question - why we went to war with Iraq - I thought that was what Kerry was initially questioning.....??? I do not think Kerry will be effective as Commander in chief. What is he going to do better than Bush.....He is the biggest monday morning Quarterback I have ever seen. In fact, he scares me very much.

Yes. Trying to conjecture who is and who isn't better off without Saddam is beside the point. The point is the president gave us reason which turned out to be false, and isntead of admitting error, came up with other reasons, which may ahve been legitimate ahd they been the real reasons, which they were not. THOSE are the fact. And it's sad that a lot of people still believe that Hussein had ties to Al Qaeda, that there were WMD's and even that the hijakcers were iraqi. I mean, no wonder the president has such support, the people are displaying the same ignorance

That was MY question, not Kerry's question.
Do you think Bush is the be all end all? What are we going to do in 4 years if he gets re-elected this term? Have a Coup De Etat?

John Kerry met with the Via Kong Govt before the Vietnam war was over, in Paris ( isn't that a conflict of interest) ??? He is a trouble maker speaking out against the POW'S this man has no idea what it is to be american , first he speaks of how he served our then denounces people who did or do as victims he really needs to pick a side and stop being so wishy washy!

I could say people who believe in what Kerry says are just as ignorant - even more so. I'm done debating. I know who I'm voting for on Tues and no one can sway my opinion....

Actually it seems to me that Kerry knows exactly what it means to be an American. It means that you have the right to speak out about those things that you feel are injust. It means having the right to change your mind when more information is presented to you. It means serving your country, finding flaws and trying to make it better. Seems to me that Kerry knows better then alot of people what being an American is about.
I would rather have someone who realizes that he is human and imperfect as my President then a man with a God complex. Bush refuses to change his stance on anything no matter how much proof is shown to him. I don't find that endearing. I find it arrogant.

God Complex that's extreme... ok so being american is saying one thing doing another and then saying he is trying to better it ?Seems to me he is unsure of what he thinks is easily influenced ( ie his faith speech, he saw people were responding better to bush)so he was against speaking of it and then had profuse vomiting of it .. Please he is the most insincere man , and just does what the popular people want !

Actually, I don't find God Complex extreme at all, but that is JMO.
I find it so perplexing that the people that say Kerry only does what is popular are the same ones who talk about his speaking out against the Vietnam War, which was decidedly unpopular. I have looked at his record. I have listened and read as much as I possibly can about Kerry. I understand most of his 'flip-flops' . I guess I can't blame him for changing his mind when I know that I am just as guilty of doing so. I don't Kerry has never hidden his faith. He just seperates it from his politics. Something that Bush seems incapable of doing.
