Here's a tip: we have the Capital One Disney card and you earn Disney Reward Dollars that we always use towards dinner (especially at the more pricy ones: California Grill, Artist Point, etc.) Last time we had 100 bonus bucks & it paid for a good portion of a 3 course wine pairing dinner at the California Grill.

Yes, I have the card, i use it for all my gas purchaces. I love those rebate cards. I have not used the rewards dollars yet so I will put that down on my list.

My biggest advice to give to Disney Honeymooners is make reservations ASAP at any restaurants that you know you want to eat at....They have a dining plan now and the restaurants book up so quick!!!!! It was like pulling teeth for us to get reservations once we were there!!!!

I would recommend calling them right away to make reservations. They make reservations 6 months in advance for a lot of places. I already made my Polynesian luau reservations for NOVEMBER! so you're definitely not too early! Good luck! Have fun!

We want to go to Walt Disney World for our Honeymoon also. We spoke with a travel agent. She mentioned the Port Orleans Resort French Quarter as a romantic but affordable resort. She said that we could book in September/October 2006 for 2007. I still have so many questions like where do you get the bride and groom mouse ears?

I love Port orleanss French Quarter. Very romantic and affordbale. it's a moderate elvel resort, which means it's not as upscale as the deluxe resorts, but it's definitely passable and romantic for the price. If we cant afford a deluxe, we're going to stay there again fror our honeymoon. There are booths throughout the park that sell the bride and groom mouse ears..they're easy to find once you get there.

I don't think you need a travel agent. Get The Unofficaly Guide to Walt Disney World. it literally tells you EVERYTHING you need to know.

I thnk the dining plan is a great deal. I don't think eating offsite will save you money. Yes, the food on property is expensive, but it's not that bad and there are affordable options. When we go we usually plan one nice breakfast, one nice lunch and one or two nice dinners and the rest is counter service. I think trying to eat offsite will waste more time and monye travellign especially since the places around disney are also going to be expensive. You cant avoid eating on property if you're going to be there all day. A lot of times like most restaraunts the same food is chear at lunch time than at dinner time, so eat a nice meal for lunch and then grab a counter service dinner to munch while you watch the fireworks.

Also, you don't need the dining plan to eat onsite. I just want to make that clear. i think the dining plan is defiitely worth it though

It separates meals into 3 catergories and you get one of each per day. One sit down meal, one counter service meal, and one snack, and they're pretty clear on hwhat it includes, like a sit down dinner includes an appetizer entree and desssert, I think. Some of the more 'fancy' restaraunts cost 2 meals. There's an online brochure for it somehwere on the site

We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarters (thanks to the help of this board) and already made reservations for the Luau and a character breakfast at Crystal Palace!!

I hear that September and October are great times to go down there, I don't know much about the influence of hurricanes, but I have always heard good things about that time of year.
