Is 'Discover Cove' at Sea World? I want to swim with the dolphins, too... it's just so 'honeymoony!'. So, I guess that would require a rental car? What do you think?

I'll let you know all about my honeymoon when I get back... I wish I was going today!

I'm not going to Disney, but just to let you know, there is like a 3-year waiting list for Discovery Cove.
They let in very few people each day, and its by reservation only. Its not like the other orlando parks at all.
It is run by sea world, though.

My sister went with her girl scout troup and they only planned about a year in advance they went last year.

We want to go to Walt Disney World for our Honeymoon also. We spoke with a travel agent. She mentioned the Port Orleans Resort French Quarter as a romantic but affordable resort. She said that we could book in September/October 2006 for 2007. I still have so many questions like where do you get the bride and groom mouse ears?

I know when I was down there, when we got engaged they sold them in most of the shops that sell the mouse ears.

we've stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and at Coronado Springs. Both were very nice.

Another romantic idea that I love: in EPCOT, head over to France about 10-15 minutes before the Illuminations fireworks and light show. Get a couple of glasses of Champagne (they have a Champagne booth right in front of France or you can go inside the wine store) and watch the fireworks from the bridge connecting France with the United Kingdom. We do this every time we go!

We are going in July (so excited) and we are staying at the Grand Floridian since that it one of the 3 that has the monorail....the stupid agent didn't mention that it was our honeymoon when we booked...BUT I will be sure to mention that when we get there!!!

I agree on Port Orleans French Quarter. FH and I stayed there for a ridiculously cheap amount with our annual passholder discounts and the magnolia gardens are so pretty..outdoor jacuzzi. I love it. if we can;t afford a deluxe, I would defintiely stay there for the HM

Mention it when you get there AND call ahead and tell them to put in on your file. When you make priority seatings, tell them then too


ETA: When we went to the CA Grill we mentioned to each other that it was our anniversary and the waitress must have overheard us and she brought us a huge piece of cake and said 'Happy Anniversary!'

So, I REALLY don't know Disney at all! A lot of people are saying you don't really stay in your room anyway, so it's not worth it to pay big bucks for a Deluxe. Right now, we're booked for the Beach Club Villas, one bedroom villa (king sized bed and whirlpool tub... small kitchenette, etc.). I just can't see spending 1200-2000 more for the Grand Floridian. And there are no king sized bed rooms available at the Polynesian. Should I switch it to Port Orleans? I don't know what to do!

Port Orleans is so much more afordable. It is also so romantic. It looks like your right in New Orleans.

I think all of the moderate resorts are really nice, and much more affordable. I like Carribean Beach myself, I just find it so relaxing over there, that is where we always stay

Oh Disney HM ladies...I bought a great book at Barnes and Noble..called Disney for Couples...there is some stuff about honeymoons in there too! There is also the Unoffical Guide to Disney that also comes in a mini version so you don't have to lug that big book around on the trip!

Every person has different needs when they go to Disney...When we went for our honeymoon, we knew we wanted to be at a monorail reosrt because it would be more convenient for us...You need to weigh all your options and see if it would be worth it to stay at different places according to your needs!!!

There are two parts to Port ORleans. One used to be Dixie Landings, then they changed it to Riverside, now it might all be called Port Orleans. Riverside is the more romantic of the two, i/m/o. It is a lot quieter, (the pool at Port Orleans is the big dragon), and if you want to you can just walk over or take the boat between the two hotels.
