do you think it's crazy to go the end of sept begining of october to florida? the only reason i ask this is because i thought it was hurricane season? i dont' need anything to stress me out more considering i have never been on a plane before!

I hear that September and October are great times to go down there, I don't know much about the influence of hurricanes, but I have always heard good things about that time of year.

oh ok. that's great..thanks!

End of Sept/beginning of Oct is still hurricane season. It isn't necessarily crazy to go, but it is risky. You just can't predict the weather. We went to Disney right before hurricane Charley in 04. We had to take an earlier flight to get there because we knew our flight down would be cancelled because of the hurricane. Once we were there, we were fine. The hurricane hit Orlando, but the power barely even flickered. That said, if you want to go to Disney, you should, but just remember that your plans may have to change because of the weather.

Sept and Oct are the PERFECT times to go b/c kids are back in school so crowds are light, weather is still good and you can get on the same rides two and three times! Before I had my daughter i would always go to WDW at this time of year.

As far as hurricanes, I went to Disney in Sept of 99 and got stuck in a hurricane down there! Not sure what category it was, but it was bad enough to close the parks for one day, and the staff brought food to the rooms for us. The resort was very accomodating. The next day the sun popped out and all was well. We went on the disney cruise a few days later, but that was not a good experience. The waters were choppy b/c of the hurricane and the bahamas was very damaged. We made the best of the trip. I would say take the chance if you are just doing WDW but not a cruise.

FH and I are now a Disney honeymooners! YAY!! We are so looking foward to it, I dont know why we didnt just book it from the begining!
We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarters (thanks to the help of this board) and already made reservations for the Luau and a character breakfast at Crystal Palace!!

Lets all share any good websites for DIsney honeymooners because I am sick of Disneyworld.com (well I could never REALLY get sick of that site. the music makes me wish I was there now!)

Just thought I'd share :)

mouse ears for disney discounts
passporter for planning material (great book!)
