I thought about that too but it's computer...ahem...'laser calligraphy' which I can do myself.

I'll try one today, if not, my crappy handwriting it is.

i think inkspun and other computer calligraphers actually have a nib in the printer that writes as if by hand, a little different than laser. i looks too perfect to be by hand, but they also look amazing when done this way.

I ran the envelopes for my save the dates through my laser printer with a font I downloaded and they came out fine. They were thin envelopes though. My invitation envelopes are lined with silk brocade and are very thick, so they would definately jam. So, run a test and make sure they will work. If they do not, I say definately hand write them (find a few friends with nice handwriting and get a pretty color think calligraphy marker from an art store- it shouldn't take that long).

I actually got them doone by a calligrapher and LOVE THEM! Thanks to mv1003 who came to my rescue and brought them to the calligrapher for me...I love this site and was NEVER expecting someone to go so completely out of their way just to help me out - thanks so much Michelle - you rock!

I'll post pics later on tonight, the invites are at home...I seriously cannot believe how nivce they came out. And honestly, there was no way I could have ran them through the printer since the envelopes are embossed and the inner is lined, so I'm glad Michelle recommended the calligrapher...the best part is that she picked them up on Wednesday and they were done Thursday! So I got them last night...sending them out tomorrow...yipee!

Most wedding invites I have gotten recently have been printed on a computer. I doubt anyone will even notice or care.

Me too even a sticker!!! I had a ton of late address' given to me so I did the rest a good chunk through the printer I used Amaze font and they look great. I used the print shop program to help me with the measurements of the envelope.

I'm getting them laser printed. I actually was going to go with hand calligraphy but I saw Melissandsean invites on her and they blew me AWAY. I'm going with Artistic Addressing.com. The customer service is great.digital calligrapher

I found a couple of hand calligraphers who charge $1.50 for both inner and outer envelopes. FM me if you want their information


Oh to answer your question: I think it would look okay and I agree it's much better than doing labels.

I used someone that mv1003 recommended. I received a discounted rate, but I think she charges $2.50 four outer and $1.00 for inner. I'll try to post pics tonight.

I found alot of affordable hand calligraphers. Try to doing a search on the knot. Or if you can wait until Monday, I can FM you all the people I had. I think the least expensiver person I found was $1.50 for inner and outer. I have samples too from them.
