Heres the price

These boxes are each individually hand wrapped in two layers of red satin ribbon, and decorated with a Chinese lucky coin. They are available both empty, and filled with candy. Candy options are Chinese lucky candy, red cinnamon imperials, cherry sours, and red cinnamon jelly hearts. Other candies may be available upon request. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. Minimum of 20 for the candy filled boxes please. There is no minimum for the empty boxes.

$1.50 each empty

No his first name is Michael.. it's not a band it's a DJ. We are on such a tight budget but he's REALLY good and so very nice to work with, plus it's all computerized so i can literally ask for ANY music!

Newest development.
We booked Stewart Manor because it's all inclusive (hall, ceremony, centerpieces, cake, so forth) Now we've decided to do our own centerpieces. Mostly because theirs are silver with white candles and it really clashes with our asian theme.

So here's what we've thought of...
These as Centerpieces and the little candle holders are four per table. The table setting is Red with a gold layer on top (like two table cloths draped)

Whatcha think? (oh and we're tying red/gold tassels to the bottom of both sides of the handle on the lantern.

This is very cool.. Really blends two cultures together. Is your wedding in the late evening with dimlights? Coz when your lanterns lit up, it'll be very romantic.

Im a morning wedding.. but it's mid-fall so it still gets dark around 4pm. It will be dim but not dark.

I'm only going to wear the chee pow for probably an hour or so. I'm not for the idea but , it means so much to my parents... I couldn't say 'no.' just a question: what about the tea cermony? Where is that done, at home or at the reception?

Hey Girls,

I'm not a chinese bride but a thai bride. I'm getting married in May and I must say, it has been fun to incorporate both eastern and western cultures. We are having a traditional thai wedding and I wll be wearing a white dress for the reception. I wish I could wear both dresses much longer. I tried not to splurge on the wedding but you just cant help it. After all, its once in a life time!!

I pretty much am using most of the vendors that were listed on this site however my thai wedding will be cooridinated by a thai wedding planner. It has been very costly to use different florists and other vendors to keep the ceremony and the reception separate since I was a little anxious of trusting a vendor who might be a little out of their element. So I ended up dishing out a little more.

I did save a lot on my dresses and bridesmaid dresses by purchasing them directly from thailand. My favors are from thailand as well. Definitely try to purchase things overseas, you will save a lot and use it where its more difficult to cut costs.

Cant wait to hear how your plannings are coming along!!

Also, if you girls are looking for jewelry at reasonable prices, definitely go to chinatown! I'm sure most of you know this already, but I just bought my bridal attendants gifts there today, as well as my wedding bands! I got a replica of the tiffany bubbles necklace for the girls. And remember, they are negotiable! Just don't seem to eager. I got them to go down twice in price!

Wow, how did you get things picked out and shipped from Thailand? Do you have family over there to help with that. I was thinking of getting stuff directly from Korea and shipped - it might be less expensive, but not sure the best way to go about this.

Try looking at K-town 32nd street. There might be some wedding shops there. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to thailand.

Thanks-I know what you mean, by the site logging you out, thats annoying, but please post more details that you think would be helpful, I did check out K-town to get ethnic ideas from their little book stores that sell trinkets and small things. If I do decide to do ethnic favors, I do have some family in Korea that may be able to pick things up and send them over.....anyway, we have to keep this post going, so ladies lets keep the thoughts flowing.....Did anyone else find any other makeup salons that might be more reasonably priced than Wedding Group One?

There is a really nice wedding salon in flushing but for the life of me, I cant remember the name of the place or which street it is on. From what I remember its off main street. I went there to get our nails done there and there was a bride getting her hair and makeup done. It was very nice place. I'm gonna ask my friend and get back to you.

I bought the etched lanterns (12 of them 1 for each of the 10 tables and 2 extra)
I also bought two of these (i'll try to post the pic) Two Dragon Lanterns..
We loved them (I have this thing for dragons)
and figured if we got two we can put them on the cake table or ours.

OH and Jim didnt know what Red Velvet was!!!
Its popular in the South (where im from) i guess more than here.. it's a rich chocolate cake that is vibrant red. So we are going with that. The filling we are undecided on but we may be leaning toward banana or pineapple (he loves pineapple and chocolate pineapple makes him drool)
