Re: dress anxiety..

dress shopping is the most stressfull thing in my life right now.
You're not alone.
Trust me though, I'm not a small girl either, and there are a ton of great dresses out there.

I havent gotten my gown yet, and people keep telling me i'm crazy. Even my dad is on my case about it now.

You however, have plenty of time. You're more than a year out! Don't worry about it yet.

Re: dress anxiety..

i know i'm a little late in this reply, but KarinAmanda you will be just fine!! i am much bigger than you (size 16-18 in real clothes) and i had a blast trying on dresses! plus, i looked at your album and you are beautiful so i'm sure you will glow in the gowns!

i was so nervous and convinced i wouldn't find anything to fit me but it ended up working out. i actually went to david's bridal one day by myself b/c i knew they carried tons of sizes....i didn't end up finding 'the one' there but it was a great way to figure out what styles worked for me. i also knew i wanted to try on maggie sottero gowns so i called a shop that carried them and asked how high their samples sizes are--i think that's a great way to calm your nerves before making your appt!

also.........(sorry this is so long)...the women who work in bridal stores are pretty amazing and can get you in dresses that aren't your size (whether big or small) by using clips and all sorts of tricks. my consultant actually got a size 10 gown on me and i haven't been a size 10 since i was about 10 years old

it will be way more fun than you think and you will find the perfect gown for you!!! good luck!!

how does it work? ive heard horror stories of dresses running so small (aka if you are a 12 ... you need to order an 18) to the point where they dont carry the size, or the dress has to be special ordered. Do they carry every dress in all sizes? What are sample sizes typically? I guess i just need to get my a$$ out there, pony up and try on some dresses

don't worry you'll find something!!!!!! and yes i had to order 4 sizes more than i would usually!!!..and dresses they usually carry in the stores are usually between 12-16..so they'll fit every body type

p.s. I don't know why you are worrying so much! your beautiful! don't worry you'll look beautiful!

Re: dress anxiety..

A friend told me that every dress she tried on at RK Bridal was a size 16 and up so I'm sure you will be fine!
