Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

January: Too close after Xmas and cold!
February: too cold and close to his bday
March: his bday & tax season
April: tax season & after his bday
May: ---- open ----
June: too hot
July: too hot and close to my bday
August: my bday and too hot
September: After my Bday
October: ---- open ----
November: Close to Xmas and getting cold
December: Xmas and Cold

That leaves me.
May: Got engaged in June 2003, May 2004 would have been too close and I couldnt wait for May 2005
October: Between my birthday and Xmas and meant almost a year and a half wait... do-able.

So October it was. Besides we love Fall and it's weather, cool, crisp and clean

When? Well that had to do with my own 'cycle' and how we both agreed the end of the month would be cooler and with more trees changing color. Changing of Seasons is so pretty. So after a quick overview of the calendar, a quick look and lucky/fair days with the Chinese calendar, we agreed to October 23.

1 0 2 3 0 4
numerically easy to recall.
1 Circle Zero 2 3 Circle Zero 4
Two Rings within our date.

Freak, aren't I?

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

I didn't want winter or mid summer, He didn't want the fall that left May, June and Sept.
I really wanted May, Spet was too far. I called a few vendors I really wanted. My Photopragher doesn't book weddings in May b/c of Communions so we decided the first weekend in June.

Its perfect I get to be a June Bride

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

FH is in law school and is going to summer school. So we only had 3 dates that would give us time to go on a honeymoon.

Orginally picked August 7 bc seven is my lucky number, but had to move it up a week to get Larkfield Manor.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

FH picked the date. We wanted to get married on our anniversary but that was a friday night and we wanted a sat. night. If we waited till 2005 it would have been a saturday and our 10 year anniversary but didnt want to wait that long. FH said lets get married on the June 26th cause its the first time we kissed as boyfriend and Girlfriend (when we were 14 and 16) and it will be the first time we kiss as husband and wife. How could I not say yes!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

I'm a teacher and I def. didn't want to postpone our honeymoon, so we decided on the last weekend in June, since schools would be out by then. Getting married on a Sunday b/c in the Greek Orthodox faith, weddings take place on Sunday's.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

we knew we wanted a sat in either june or july, but did not have a particular day in mind. by totally coincidence (fate) it turns out that the day we are getting married is also our 4 year 'dating' anniversary. things were so hectic trying to coordinate everything initally that it wasn't until after everything was booked that FI brought this to my attention.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

In Jewish faith, some parts of the year couples cannot get married. The rest of the year is open for me. We need to pick a date soon, probably Aug. 15th, when we met.

:)

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

We knew we wanted Summer '04. The Jewish calender limits the weeks you can get married during that time of year, so we knew it had to be either in June, the first week in July, or not until August. The first weekend in July is my parent's and sister and brother in law's anniversaries, so we didn't want it then. We wanted to have it on 6/20, but that was father's day as well as the anniversary of my brother-in-law's father's death, so that basically pushed us to 6/27!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

Well he asked me on Dec 21st (first day of winter) and he wanted it to be on the first day of summer, and 2004 was too close, and 2006 too far. We both love the summer, and it is the longest day of the year so it will be so sunny all day and early evening too!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

I wanted Christmas Eve, he did not want that and he can only take off from 4/15-10/15 because he works in heating. I did not want it in the summer and April '05 was too far away so 13 is my grandma's lucky number so we picked 10/3 and we still have time to take our honeymoon before 10/15.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

We chose Sept. as our month b/c we want an outdoor ceremony and nice weather that's (hopefully) not too hot or cold (our fingers are crossed). We went with a Thurs. b/c we are paying for the bulk of it ourselves. And we went with the '23rd' b/c it is my FH's favorite number - his birthday is May 23rd and he proposed on his b-day.

We wanted a fall wedding and at Land's End, they give a better rate in October. October 17 was the first Sunday they had available that were able to do at Land's End.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

At first we wanted a summer wedding.. but once I did a little research and found out how expensive it was.. that was out of the question. I found out what the 'off season' months are and then decided February was perfect since we met in February and got engaged in February. We went to the hall and had an idea of the date but its hard b/c two of the weekends that month are either MOH's bday or best man's bday. Well since we were flexible about the date the hall picked on for us.. and we wound up getting a great price!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

Well we got engaged on May 31, 2003 and I wanted a wedding when it was going to warm so we had April - October to work with. My sister, MOH, is studying abroad this year and doesn't get back till late June.
We were looking for a weekend in July, August, or September. I was picking between August 14th or September 4th, because that's when the Vanderbilt was available. I checked the Farmer's Almanac and it rained 70% more on the 14th and almost never rained on the 4th in the last 10 years. It worked out b/c we will also have a bunch of OOT guests and that gives them an extra day.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

I wanted to get married in the late summer preferably on a three day weekend. I certainly wanted it to still be warm and I also wanted to get married in an even year. (I know it's a littl superstitious but that's me)

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

By the time we got engaged in September, we had been living in separate countries for about 10 months. We wanted to do it QUICKLY!! His parents are both school teachers and their winter breaks coincided--it was the only time we could do it--in fact, the only weekend we could do it!! We're so lucky things worked out for us and because we're getting married in teh DEAD of winter, we got some great deals!
