I have no idea how many carats mine is.
BUT
I have to agree with some other girls about how important other things are in a ring, such as color. My FH is a diamond grader at GIA and he was more concerned with color than carat.

Exactly...this is a hard topic to answer because some girls, especially LI girls, just hear the carat size and think that is all to a ring. A co-worker got engaged after me and got a 2.3 carat princess, but when you look closely at it, you can see that the quality of the diamond is not good at all. When someone commented that mine was a nicer diamond than hers, even though mine is a 1.65, she automatically was angry and said 'ATLEAST MINE IS A 2.3..' Id rather have a smaller quality diamond than a big showy one that is horrible in quality......

My center stone is 1.76 and the trillions & small diamonds equal.65 ct all diamonds are colorless.. So all together about 2.4

I dont know exact, total is around 3 --center is around 2 and channel set diamonds on split shank less than 1

Mine is a hair over 1, round solitaire, plain band with no side stones or baguettes. Classic Tiffany-style ring, and all I wanted, and I love it.

FH on the other hand pisses and moans on a semi-regular basis 'You know, if you weren't so spoiled and I got .05 carats less, I would have saved thousands of dollars'.

But I already know that my FH doesn't love me that much, so no additional comments necessary!

FH and I NEVER talked about rings - he picked this one all out by himself..... 2.7 center brilliant round with two bagquets on the side totalling 3.3

But will say I have long fingers - ring size is 6 3/4 so looks perfect on my finger.

I would love this ring no matter the size b/c FH picked it out and it is simple elegance - which I love



I agree with everyone that posted that the ring is special b/c of the guy that they love

My center stone is .82

it has pave bands going down the side but I don't know the total carat weight of the ring...

My center stone is a 1.86 pear shape, and there's another carat of diamonds in the setting.
So total carats = 2.86

ETA: my center stone is a D in color

1.8 center stone with 3 sets of pave diamons on the band. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Legs - I soooooooooo can't wait to show you my grandmother's ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's pretty much the EXACT same as yours!!!!! Just her's is about 65 years older than yours!!!!



I have a 1 ct princess cut VVS center stone (I cant remember the color grade at all) with 6 side stones (3 on each side) grouped together in the shape of a triangle. I think the whole ring together is about 1.5 ct's. Also the entire siding has detailed scrollwork going all the way around. I love it!! It has that timeless antique look to it!! ONLY problem is trying to find a wedding band that fits with it!! I have to have one made instead!!! Which for me is a pain in the butt!!!! But I'm sure I'll love the outcome!!!!

We all have pictures; it's no suprise what the e-rings are like. Some LI girls are caddy and competitive...it's the nature of LI! Mine is a 1.5 princess cut with 1 ct princess channel cut band; 2.5 total. I love it and that's all that matters~

The questions wasn't 'what QUALITY is your ring?' it was 'how many carats is your ring' and people are simply answering the question. Most people know that there is more to a diamond that carats... however, that is not the question the OP asked.

To assume that all big stones are poor quality isn't fair.

First of all, the word is catty. Caddy is either a car or a person who carries your golf clubs.

Second, you should all be ashamed of yourself. You say its all in good fun, but you know its actually a competition... girls with big rings trying to make excuses as to why they have big stones... girls with small rings saying that their rings are better b/c of the clarity and color.

Rings don't matter, you queers. This thread is like men comparing penis size. Be happy with what you have, and know that most people dont want to hear about it or see it.

if everyone just answered the OP's question without adding that their ring is so much better b/c of color, clarity, cut, etc, it would remain drama free

I'm marrying a frenchman in france, so my ring is actually the traditional live tiger cub ring. I can't wait to eat croissants and brie with him and stroke my tiger cub ring. Ah, l'amor.

I am not assuming that big stones are poor quality at all....my comment on the fact that I would rather have a small diamond with high quality than a big one with low was in regards to my co-workers comments, not on anyone's posting....

As we all said, as long as we are all happy and know the significance of the ring, that's all that matters....who has what and what size is it is irrelevant...
