Re: Make-up trial with Mia (pics) (EDITED POST)

Honestly....
The same thing happened to me.
I didn't post this before but I had a trial w/ her and when she came to my house she told me she was booked for my date but that she'd be at my house by 10:30AM, not to worry, etc.

I told her my mass was at 3 and i had 8 girls in my party and my mom in my original email and conversation with her and she never mentioned that she was booked. She told me she was available.

She told me this at my house while she was working on me; I think she could tell I was pissed and she then told me she'd ask the other bride to move up her time (which of course is totally unfair to her)

I loved her work but I booked someone else. #1 - I had to. #2 - I was too uncomfortable w/ asking another bride to move up her time - we all know that things don't always work exactly as planned.

I was pissed too that I spent the trial $$$ - never even thought of asking for a refund, but you should. It is too late for me.

I never posted this b4 - I didn't want2 stress out the other brides who booked her. But, after reading your post, I felt I should tell m experience.

Sorry to hear that
You must be so disappointed, but at the same time was not meant to be. You have plenty of time to find someone else.

I agree about the refund for the trial though

Re: Make-up trial with Mia (pics) (EDITED POST)

Well since I am the bride that is booked for her day I would like to defend her a little. Like I told Melissa she made a mistake which I have seen many popular vendors on here do. She thought is was 9-2-06 not 07. She is more than willing to refund her trial money and in fact did not know she had double booked until I called her in a panic.

Melissa please call Oksana to confirm the date is taken since she was holding the day for me as well.

Again sorry for the mix up

Re: Make-up trial with Mia (pics) (EDITED POST)

Even though my date twin changed her date, Mia did the same thing to me. I had a trial booked and she knew my date, but then my ex date twin booked a trial, had it and booked her.

I did eventually have a trial with her, but I decided to go another way

That's all fine....... but she should refund her the money, becasue her trials are not cheap.

And let me just add that yes we all make mistakes, its human, but 2 or 3 times making the same mistake is ridiculous and unproffessional.

I agree, she should get a refund.

IMO I think its absurd brides have to pay for trials anyway.. shouldnt this be the opportunity for a hair/makeup artist to 'Sell' you their services?

We dont pay RH and photographers to check out what they provide.

Just my opinion

I just removed my pictures because Mia just emailed me that she was confused about my wedding date and is actually already booked on my date so she won't be able to do my wedding! I'm so upset! I went through the trial, was all excited about it and now I have to find someone else

oh that sux...did she at least reimburse you for the trial since it was her screw up? i didn't get to see the pics but i'm sure you looked great!

If this happened and you had a trial booked she definitely should have let you know but I don't think she needs to hold a date just b/c she has a trial with you...when I first called her she said something like 'right now, I am available for that date'. but if someone else books her first, she should let you know that she has become unavailable.

Sorry if this is a silly question...I haven't been on the boards that long: Is this Mia the same person as Mya from Cosmetic Artistry? I'm confused as to who Mia is. Thanks. : )

I had the trial booked FIRST and then my ex date twin booked a trial before mine and booked her, so... but it all kind of worked out in the end anyway, so there were definitely no hard feelings. I was upset at first since I had had the trial booked for a long time, but oh well... like I said, no hard feelings what-so-ever

Re: Make-up trial with Mia (pics) (EDITED POST)

She emailed me and said she could get me another make-up artist to fill in for her. She would get me the trial with that other artist for free (since I already paid for the trial). What should I do?
