yay for menus! that's the last thing i realllllly wanted to take care of since it holds up me getting the menu printed

our min 125. we invited a tiny bit over 200....and the majority of that is family. we're not even inviting that many friends!!! i would be happy if we were at 125 or even a few people under but we'll see. i think a bunch of people wont be able to make it because of work/it being the holiday...im just waiting for those no's to come back! and its not that we dont like anyone...i just would prefer to have less people so we could have more time with each person and more time with our friends.

I have not gotten back an RSVP in over 4 days now and I still have over 40 out there!! And most are from my side -- I called my mom yesterday and told her to start saying something to people already- they have been out for over 4 weeks and this is not brain surgery!! Just make a choice and send it back in the perpaid envelope!!! I hate people!!!

some of my family is trying to be 'funny' and purposely holding on to the rsvps b/c it says they have until oct 26th...they think its funny cuz i want them back (meanwhile they already booked the hotel room & talk to me about the wedding). seriously.

& of course my dad is being ridic with the whole 'and guest' thing after we discussed not to do and guest for my cousins because he specifically asked them if they were dating anyone...they said no and all of a sudden a few weeks later...they are now complaining they want to bring someone...cuz um they are in 'serious committed relationships'

i agree with kim...dont overthink the tags and dont stress over it. everyone will know its a thank you from u guys for your wedding. but if it bothers u that much and u have time and arent stressed...then go for it.

I actually just spoke with my reception hall (Giorgio's) this morning and they said they will be calling next week for the weddings taking place the week we are getting married. No worries, its normally 6 weeks prior!

Girls, I FINALLY MAILED MY INVITES TODAY!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! What a GREAT feeling to have them off my hands. I wanted to hand cancel but the post office guy advised me against it and said that it looks neater if you dont because sometimes when you get them hand cancelled, they run them through the machine anyway, so you have 2 markings instead of one.

Anywhooo, we also booked Limos with Royalty last night! Things are coming along!!!!!!

Fh and I got our marriage license today!!!

We went to the Bronx Courthouse, we were 2nd in line to get in, first in the Marriage license office, we were done in about 20 minutes or so.

I hear you.... we've gone a day here and there without any RSVPs and it's disappointing. And then there's today, where we got 3 back, all yes!

Thanks for the advice about the tags. I love doing graphic and layout design, and I'm a self-admitted perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this, so in a moment of inspiration this afternoon, I redesigned the front of the tags with our monogram and reprinted them. It took all of 45 minutes and I was blasting music while doing them, so it wasn't stressful at all. It took my mind off of being ANGRY with Time Warner for the millionth time b/c our cable and internet was out yet again. I'm just getting online now, almost midnight, after having no service all day!!!!

A quick question..... has anyone gotten their toasting flutes and cake knife/server engraved? I'm contemplating going to Things Remembered at the Queens Center Mall this weekend. Anyone have good/bad reviews? TIA!

6 or 7 years I bought a keychain and got it engraved from Things Remembered (in a different state), and I was happy with the work. I don't know if that's the vote of confidence you were looking for, but their main job is to engrave things, and they've been around for a long time, so I would trust them.

i got our gm gift there and everyhing was fine- but my cake server and flutes came from the place ingraved so i cant help you there, but i am sure they would do a great job

we're going to go after fh's bach party next weekend...only if all goes well

update on our meeting with the chef - it went really well...he was excited about all our ideas anddddd

BEST of all...they are actually allowing us to bring in home made pierogies (as in my mom/gma making them) so we can have the real authentic stuff!

YAY Irene!!!!!!!!!! My grandma's pierogies are my FAVORITE food in the entire world, I love potato and cheese and also saurkraut! That's gonna be such a special touch to your wedding!
