yeah, just a little excited.

I had a conference all day today and ended up running into a male friend who I had not told I was engaged. He saw my ring from across the room and ran over to grab my hand to ask about it.

It sparkles like crazy. Elevator light is the best!!!

Even the appraiser I went to today, David Wolf, loves the stone.

Love your ring It is absolutely gorgeous! I bet you are still staring at it!


I've been staring at it all day. I even annoyed a few friends by angling it to sparkle in their eyes at the conference I attended today.

Congrats on your engagement!! What an exciting moment, it sounds magical!! Happy wedding planning to you and your FH!!!


PS: I think I saw you and your FH at the Royal Hideaway in June '04 (I was on my HM). My DH and I actually talked to your FH in the gym one day while we were there. Please tell me it was you cause you both look so familiar!!!


We were at Royal Hideaway - but July 4th weekend. FI did tell me about a couple at the gym who struck up a conversation. Does your husband work for LIRR or Metro North? If so, that was us. FI and your husband talked about trains in the boiling hot sun for a while in front of Spices.

Don't you just love Royal Hideaway!!!! I took FI there as a birthday gift. I had been once before with a girlfriend and loved it....but it's really a couples place rather than for single women.

I just can't stop taking pics of my ring. In fact, someone on LIW is friends with Christen at GOG and mentioned I was having trouble taking pics. Christen e-mailed me pics!!!! How cool is that.

Here are the 3 she sent.




And now the pics I finally managed to take in macro mode - thanks to LIW ladies with the same digital camera I've been using for months (reading the instruction manual would have helped)




Never knew I had that much hair on my fingers!!!! That macro setting hides nothing.

I got e-mail from my best friend in VA and her entire office agrees that my ring is HUGE. I sent her a link to my pics on snapfish.



I also told her that it's really not huge for NYC. I've seen huge - like 3 carats or more on a few ladies at work and on the train. rings.

Congrats Katrina! You must be so excited. I know I am for you. I kept feeling like he was taking forever to propose as if I was wrapped up in it I wanted to tell him... get on with it already

My situation was similar in that I knew it was going to happen and new it would happen while we were on vacation but I didn't think it would happen until we got to Florence on the 4th day so I wasn't really in insane mode yet. Luckily, FH proposed on the 3rd day before I expected it.

I think all my friends felt that way - hurry up already.

The funny thing is he proposed the same day he got the ring. It was shipped UPS and arrived Monday. He took the day off to drive to NJ (his brother's house) to pick up the ring.
