We booked our limo last night and went over the list one last time before I start printing the invites. I am almost doen with my shower thank yous....

We've been assembling invitations all week! Our mailing goal is the 28th. We picked tuxes last weekend (Men's Wearhouse) and I have my hair trial on Sunday.
I know my shower is coming soon, it's inevitable but the suspense is killing me!
i know exactly how you feel about the shower. i felt the same way, but now i am almost sad that it is over. it lasted a little longer today because my aunt and uncle dropped off their gift, a 42 bottle wine cooler, today. i can't wait til i have my house to put the stuff in!!!
Thats such a great unique gift!
By the way you are getting married at the Fox Hollow the week before me!!! What rooms are you using? Are you having a day or night wedding? I hope you have a great day!
we have the briar fox for cocktail hour, or outside if it is nice, but i am not going with that.
the garden terrace for the reception...the big long room....and it is a saturday night...i really can't wait...
My invites went out TODAY!!! let the responses fly in....
and in a few i am off to a hair trial....

Where is the best place to get a license as in somewhere where we wouldn't have to take a whole day off of work and the lines and such are easy to get through?

We did it at the Long Beach City Clerk... there was NO LINE but call because their computers were down so it took longer than it should (about 45 mins). LBC might be out of the way for you but it worked out perfectly for us. FH and I both happened to be working nearby enough that we were basically able to do it on an extended lunch hour.
ETA: PLUS at LBC you don't need you birth certificate and all that crap -- just your license. DON'T FORGET TO BRING FORTY DOLLARS CASH!! Exact Change!! We almost didn't have it!

Ok now I know this may sound stupid, but FH asked and I said yes but I just wanted to make sure I was correct.For the marriage license they issue you a STATE license right, so if I went to Nassau county to get it and got married in Queens that's ok right?
Just double checking

Jules, I think that's right, that it's a state thing, but maybe someone else can answer for sure.Congrats on those getting replies! I have about 10 so far - 9 yes, 1 no.
And I sent out all my shower TY's!

I went to the Queens courthouse today and the line was soooooo long for marriage licenses - I would recommend going out to the island!

I sent mine out on thrusday and tons of people got them on friday. I wonder when the responses will come in. my cousin said she wanted to get it in first!

on the late RSVP head crushers. Regarding what you are saying after planning a wedding you would send out your RSVPs early, I heard that people who either recently got married, getting married soon or children got married not too long ago will send their RSVPs quicker than others. In my experience, it was true a lot of the time.

I'm still missing 70 RSVPs and my RSVP date was three days ago!!
On another note: we paid off our Honeymoon yesterday -- ouch!

I thought that was going to be the straw that broke the camels back, but I think hair and makeup is going to be. I still haven't found someone. I know I will eventually if I have to have my sister do it. where's that checklist, because I know I am going to forget something
