Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

My BM is Bruce.

I went to the showcase last March and it was totally worth it I think. It was pretty fun actually. You get to taste some of the CH food and see their preferred vendors. They do raffles and such as well downstairs.

The vendors set up in the Astor Suite and the Bostonian Room, the food is in the Astor Suite and a bar is in the Bostonian. The band and dj set up downstairs in the Vanderbuilt Room where they have the raffles.

Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

HI EVERYONE! We are having the ceremony and reception at Watermill. We are going to be in the Aster room.
This is my very first post and I am losing my mind. I am going to the Aug 3rd Showcase and looking forward to it.

I am really starting to stress now. I mean I am getting married in a little more than one year and I am trying to look for a photograper. I saw ADA that watermill recommended but I see some negative reviews on them here. I see tons of great things about DUET. I am so confused. I don't want to be cheap about the photography by any means but I want to get the most bang for my buck. Anyone have any advice?

Hello fellow Watermillie!!
We're in the Astor Suite as well, though our ceremony is going to be at church. Anyhoo... For our photographer, we booked Imagine Studios. I just LOVED Lia and Nelson's work from the minute we met with them. I checked out some of the recommended photographer's and didn't like any of their work, least of all ADA. They don't really do photojournalistic work and that is what we were looking for.

JMO though...

Good luck with your search!!

P.S. I'll be there on the 3rd as well!!

I love DUET, they give you a good deal and the picture are awesome ( more candid picture and natural ).

Oh, it was a little DVD with a sample of their photography/video. They also tell you in the note if they're open on your date or not.

Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

Check out Patken. I booked them for both photos and video. They were very customer service oriented and worked in my budget.
I visited only 2 other photographers but I felt the most comfortable with them.

How many of you got linens and chair covers?

linens..um i dont' know about that, but i got chair covers included in my price.

i havent' gotten to CP's yet, but i will most likely do a high one, hoping to get clusters of flowers together, so at the end of the night each person can take home a cluster.

Hello watermillie!!
We got all the upgraded linens also included in our price. As for CPs I'm most likely going to do a low one, oblong like the tables with red orange and yellow roses, berries and different sized pillar candles in the center. Here's a pic of what I'm thinking of the second picture has more of the flowers I'm thinking of using...

ETA: I can't get the 2nd pic to post...

Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

Love it!

I got the linens included as well..I am so happy about that!!!!!

I think I am going low as well with the CPs..

Are you doing any upgrades to your menu?
I was thinking of the martini bar and the seafood boat..There are other brides that always say these are a hit!
