Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

Girls, I am sure that you all saw the thread about the Scotto Bros lawsuit.

How do you all feel about this? Has it affected your decision about choosing the Watermill?

Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

Not at all. I love Watermill and I heard lots of good things about the place. It's really not bother me even though I know I paid 18% for tax and gratuity... but what we can do.. that's their policy so probably I just give extra tip for the waitress.

Ok, I feel a bit better now... I was a little freaked out when I read it.

I'm not worried... From what I know that's common practice (not just with the Scottos) so we will be sure to tip others individually. I love the Watermill and would never regret our decision to have our reception there. It's a great place!

Question fellow Watermillies...

Does anyone know if they supply votive candles for the tables during the reception? Not the cocktail hour...

Jennie...Hey! I hope no one minds me crashing your board, but you can feel free to ask me any WM questions!

Yes, they will provide votives during the reception on tables if you wish. I specifically asked them NOT to add them to mine because they were already a part of my centerpiece. I had a tall vase with calla lilies, a mirror base, and votives all around, but they will do it if you specify.

It's strange..it was just assumed mine would be outside. I believe it's on my contract though..is it on yours?

Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

I know- I guess I assumed also, but then I started thinking- there will prob be another wedding in the Vanderbuilt room, would their cocktail be at the same time?? I have to check my contract when I get home - if its not thereI will call Brian tomorrow.... I feel like such a spaz - I am usually so carefule before signing things, I ask tons of questions.... I think I was so nervous/excited I didn't think about alot of things until later...

Anyway - I'm going to the bridal showcase next week - I think its tuesday, anyone else joining?

Re: Official 2006 Watermill Thread

I'm in the Astor room too. It's staggered time wise but there are 2 different sections outside for each area to have their own cocktail hour. Brian is my BM too.
