I actually did the monogrammed tote bags as well and got them all different colors based on what colors they liked and they loved them all. Let me know if you need any help with those.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I got them these bags in different colors:http://sweetmemorybaskets.com/Carry-All-Tote-Bag_pid-10242.aspx
They loved them..... I filled it with a makeup kit from E.L.F cosmetics, mini perfume sample kit from Victoria's Secret, Monogrammed cozy bathroom slippers, and a Monogrammed makeup bag. They absolutely loved it!
I basically put whatever they mostly use and the bag comes in very handy when you go to the beach...... the website above has great prices and a lot of ideas.

hmmmm... probably not!
the thing with indians is that they assume you know whether or not they are coming and they figure they don't have to send them. have his parents start making some calls!i even got one 6 days before the wedding

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I suggest you open the gifts at the Bridal Shower, that way if you have any duplicates, you can exchange them or get the store credit for them. Then you ship them to your new home. That's what my friend did who moved to Michigan after her wedding.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Just read about Nancy's shower...sounds like a lot of fun! I think I'm having a low key shower.....don't think I'd feel too comfortable having people give me panties and lingerie in front of my mom and aunts.........so hopefully i'll get those goodies at the bach party, haha --Have fun at your bach partyMrsV - where's the hotel you decided to book?
GtBride - love the invitation
I'm loving the idea of personalized totes....but I don't think most of my girls would actually use them. I think I'm going to get them for my fg's though and just use gift bags for my bm's
I would open the presents either at or after your shower....depending on if you have a good poker face or not....or just ask people to order online and have it shipped directly to where you'll be living....that'll make it a lot easier for you
Here's my update: I booked my hair & make up person...had a trial this past weekend and I booked with Kacey from Khouloud's. We booked a DJ...we're going with FM Entertainment. And we blocked our hotel rooms!! Now we're working on invites, hopefully that'll be decided by the end of the weekend as well.
