My FH is Polish!

so is mine.. his parents are here from Poland this month... and all I can say is Hallo.. lol

My FH is not Polish and the first words he learned was of course Kurwa and Skurwysyn-excuse my language...(which by the way he learned at the Golota fight)...

i'm surpised Ron hasn't started to censor us yet.

Here's us. I'm 2nd generation...actually Czech/Polish & German.

All I know is Dupa also & czish chicky (murdered the spelling)

There's also St. Josephat's Church in Bayside

I'm 100% Polish too..we didn't do the bread, salt and wine blessing because his parents are divorced and it was a very awkward situation...we gave our DJ a CD with polish music....some things you can do is have the dj play STO LAT after the toast..also a song that everyone seemed to have fun dancing to was POLSKIE DZIEWCZYNY SA LADNE (Polish girls are beautiful)...then we did a Polka, a waltz and I think one or two other Polish songs....but be careful..Polish women will be telling you a million and one superstitions before the wedding and will expect you to follow everything...

I'm also Polish - my parents came from Poland, I was born here. I speak Polish OK - was much better as a child, but I use it less now. So, I'm less familiar with the traditions - can someone tell me what the bread, wine and salt blessing is???

The sharing of the bread, salt and wine is an old Polish tradition. At the wedding reception, the parents of the bride and groom, greet the newly married couple with bread, which is lightly sprinkled with salt and a goblet of wine.

With the bread, the parents are hoping that their children will never hunger or be in need. With the salt, they are reminding the couple that their life may be difficult at times, and they must learn to cope with life's struggles. With the wine, they are hoping that the couple will never thirst and wish that they have a life of good health, and good cheer and share the company of many good friends.

The parents then kiss the newly married couple as a sign of welcome, unity and love.

I was born there, but my Polish is not as good as it use to be. I find myself throwing in more and more english words when I can't find the Polish one I'm looking for. But my parents make me speak it at home and we go to a Polish church, so that helps.
