Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
I had the valets put in air freshners that i made...but unfortunately there must have been 2 different parkers because some cars did not get them! Maryann was great and spoke to the company and they allowed it to be done

Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
Hello ladies - I really don't post much on LIW anymore, but I saw this thread and had to comment. You will absolutely LOVE having your wedding there! I had my reception there this past 4th of July and it was amazing. I mean they truly take care of every possible detail...everthing is wrapped up for you at the end of the night, cakeservers, glasses, etc. I really didn't get to eat the night of the wedding (I KNOW! all that incredible food and we were running around, didn't get to sit and enjoy it. GO to the tasing...OMG, YUM A LUM!!!!) well, Maryanne packaged up each entree for us to bring home! We ate it the next day at our hotel and it was great. What I'm trying to say is....little touches, their attention, caring about what they do...is not missed. All the best girls...you will not be disappointed! Cheers!

Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
Hi ladiesWhich hotel did you all decide to use for your OOT guests?
...and mcc101, I am dying to see a pic of your headpiece. How cool that it is coming all the way from France!
What type of centerpieces are you having and who is doing your flowers? I'm thinking high centerpieces with hanging votive candles.
so much to do!!! it gets overwhelming
SPF0214, here's a centerpiece pic for you at the vanderbilt. From Ireneinchicago's wedding. I love how this looks and am thinking of doing the same thing..except with white/off white flowers.

Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
Ohh that is pretty. Unfortunately I can only do low centerpieces...$$$$...I used Holiday Inn Express for my OOT guests. They have a free shuttle to and from the VM for guests.
But you can get a cheaper rate online, on their website, than what they offer for groups... They gave me some lame excuse about the blocked rooms being refundable and you don't forfit your room if you show up after 3.... whatever.. It made me mad!

Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
Lovey - it's not actually a tiara it is two dahlia flowers with white and yellow swarovski crystals - I love it! I am doing low centerpieces...I am not sure exactly what I am doing yet - I have not made up my mind but I think I am going to do shades of pink and red with some greenery to tie in the BM's antique rose dresses with the red drapes in the room.In case you need a florist and willing to go to Brooklyn, FM me and I will give you his information...he is phenominal!!
Here are a few centerpieces that I like.....

Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
waiting for some no's since my rsvp date is 4/20!isn't that terrible? i would love if everyone came but i can't physically fit everyone i invited in that ballroom. other than invites, finished my crypacks. mom is finishing petal cones. fittings are all in May. Booking hair/makeup for girls this week. only big thing left to do is get a contract/sample audio from Lyrical Strings, whom we might book for ceremony music. I am considering doing those cute potpouri sahses for the cars since we are donating and having the truffles handed out. I will price all the stuff this week at Michael's and see if I can swing it time wise. I guess all those traveling in, taking the shuttle wouldn't need one. Is that unfair?

Re: Official Vanderbilt Mansion,Oakdale Thread
No, I don't think that's unfair. Which hotel did you pick for your OOT guests? I know...the ballroom is very tight!!

Hello all,Looks like things have been pretty quiet here for a while but I thought I'd give it a shot. We're on deck for a 2006 ceremony and wanted to know how some of the more recent events have gone...
