At the framer. I thought it would be too expensive for us to frame, but it turns out ot was not all that bad. Actually, now that I think about it. The framing cost as much as the ketubah did
It looked like this when we bought it, but I took off the baby blue mat and made it a textured navy blue with a thin gold double mat underneath - traditional dark gold looking frame:

Yeah, In never thought of it that way but I think we paid about the same for framing as we did for the ketubah, maybe a little less for the framing. We went with a very plain mat and a goldish bronze frame.

dont u just LOVE my table linens. . .
they costed MORE than the flowers!! hehehehehehehehe

My friend got those thrown in at Villas!

Ummm...Ok. No . . . .
See, Villa, as do ALL RH's, give you tableclothes, yes. HOWEVER, mine were specificically ordered through another company that does table linens. Their calling Finishing Touch. Villa, as with all RH's, give you ordinary normal tableclothes and napkins. However, my over $4000 table linens, chair covers and sashes were not offered through Villa NOR do they do such a thing, You'll find your ordinary CLOTH tablecloth and napkins at any RH. However, these are a fabric thats of a very expensive material. Villa did not throw this in, never in a million years. No RH does! These are way to expensive to throw them in. My mother decided to go through the extra expense b/c this is what *i* wanted.
Don't just assume Villa threw this in, b/c they didn't. Why would they, and its so not expected. My mother just loves to get me everything I wanht, and this was definitely an extra fortune.
Not to mention everyone who works at Villa Lombardi's, said and I quote, 'omg, we're never seen this hall look so good until today' [i.e. my wedding day] because alot of people won't and cannot afford to go through an extra expense for something as little as table linens. But my mom sure did.

My parents paid for my wedding too....

I wanted nice linen, and went to finishing touch as well....

although my parents are well off, I could not let them pay for the linen - I thought it an unecessary item and would be a lot to ask of them.

I am fortunate to have parents who were able to pay for my wedding - something I would never have been able to do myself. However, I still felt it unecessary that they should buy me whatever I wanted... I decided to forego certain things because I care about them, and didn't want to 'take them to the bank' so to speak on every item....

But don't you understand, money buys happiness and shows you just how much you are loved. So the more spent, the more they love you! Duh...

My linens were from an outside company but my hall shared in the cost. They deal with outside vendors all the time. And I had my tapestries from India. I didn't do too bad for a money hungry lawyer!

No, mine was alittle more of a richer, expensive material . . . more like silkish material, i think

Mine was pure silk. just like my DH's underwear.

What? You used DH's underwear to make napkins. Were they 'clean'?

Liza, I couldnt have said this better myself. Carte Blanche lands people in the poor house.

At the time of our wedding, my mother was a 74 year old disabled widow. Over 50 years of my father's hard work allowed DH and I to have a fairy tale day. However, we needed to be mindful of the fact that my mother needed money to live on. So we contributed a decent portion to our wedding to cover the costs of the extras that many would have found excessive and unnecessary. I had a very very very charmed existence growing up not ever wanting for anything, BUT they did teach me the value of a dollar and how to be appreciative. The entire family, my siblings included, wanted us to have this day.

Sure I was a 35 year old bride, who in theory should have paid for her entire wedding herself - I have seen many people comment that older couples should pay for their own weddings -but we didnt have to. It was my mother's joy and would have been my father's as well had he been with us.

That being said, I would have given up every frill. Id have given up every damn gold table cloth, the top shelf alcohol, the full sushi bar, the suspended chuppah, the slipper basket, the egg cream cart, the international coffee bar and anything else for him to have been there - all but the pigs in a blanket - Daddy loved those.

Sorry for the rant. Im in a mood.

At what point was your wedding about you AND your HUSBAND??? Poor guy.

the WHOLE wedding was about me and dh.
my mom just paid for everything but me and dh were involved in every bit of the planning and the whole process,
thanks for ur concerns tho!

Oh, don't be confused. I'm not concerned, just curious. So far everything you've brought up has been about YOU. Even down to wanting to enlarge a picture that barely shows your DH's face! So when is it NOT about you?

FYI -
ABOUT 98% of me and DH'S pix of us are PHOTOJOURNALISTIC. Now, Photojournalistic means that its candid. . . like me and Dh looking at eachother, looking down, kissing. ECT. SOOOOO, most of my pics are they way the b&w pic is. And you'd don't see any more of my face then his.
Give it a rest.
