Wow - first of all, that is crazy that someone would actually give exact details about you & your wedding. And secondly, wow to the hall calling you. Yikes. I am so sorry that happened to you - guess this teaches us what not to say!

i can believe that someone would do that ..people are shady .
thats why you never post things like that on here. if you are getting a good deal keep it to yourself .

even though u didnt say your hall did that . they tried to get it for themselves saying that someone posted they did . if that was the case the hall now has to give that person the same deal

Ridiculous! I feel like posting some off-the-wall comments to see if someone takes the bait.

I heard some halls throw in hookers for all single guests if you decide to go with chair covers. Bring it on!

It happens more than you think. My advice to all:

Do NOT post what you spend on ANYTHING.
Do NOT tell people what you pay per head.
Do NOT post your last name.
(the post on 06 about new last names makes me nuts - sorry but it cannot be safe on SO many levels)
Do NOT post where you or your FH works.

I am sure many people may think I am paranoid now but better safe than sorry.

I completely agree - I would never post on the last name site!!! I even removed our pics from the profile - although its in my avatar but so tiny... Just in case!!!

I can't believe that!!! People need to remember that this is an advice board - doesn't mean that they are at liberty to 'name drop.'
Also - please don't let people like this stop you from being honest and sharing advice...newbies like me really need it so please keep sharing
