that must have been a little embarressing for you. however, you have to watch what you say. IMO, you shouldn't have wrote that about halls and not doing tax if you pay cash. thats something that is completely on the DL with halls. yes if you ask they may do it, but you shouldn't have posted it.

Ridiculous! I feel like posting some off-the-wall comments to see if someone takes the bait.

I heard some halls throw in hookers for all single guests if you decide to go with chair covers. Bring it on!

Best response EVER!!!

So sorry to hear about this tho!! Some people just don't have their heads screwed on right!!

Re: RP '07: VENT: If you get info from a board, get it right!

whoever did that obviously is not very bright. this is why i don't post pricing or what have you b/c people take this stuff as gospel and will hold it against you if you give false info. i'm not saying you did, but some new brides are soo excited to plan, they don't read things all the way through.

sorry

i'm sorry but i totally DO NOT agree with you. this board is for brides to HELP BRIDES, and not every one is wedding saavy. a girl asked a question about negotiating with a hall, and i answered. i did not say specifically 'you will ALWAYS save on tax.' or anything even remotely like that, i simply stated, it as an example...like you can save if you pay cash for things and used tax as just ONE of my examples...if you had read my post, you'd also see that i gave other tips like, raising your guarantee can get you some more negotiating power or starting off with a more premier menu to get things thrown in.

there are lots of girls out there who have no idea about any of these things...and we are all here to help each other. should i have not mentioned that raising your guarantee can help you with your BM? is THAT too much information? or that halls like cash? where do you draw the line? we shouldn't have to 'be careful' about what we say, as this is supposed to be a helpful place....so so sad others don't feel that way

bottom line--i am NOT the one who was a shady skeevy b*tch who gave out someone else's info to try and get a deal or just scr*w me out of my hall. THAT wench is the one who did it, and i hope she gets hers in the end, cause what goes around, comes around.

I know what kind of board this is, i've been here since 9/04.

I understand that you are mad and were just helping out, I would be mad too if someone did that to me what they did to you. If you wanna call someone out on it, say it here, not go behind someones back. I just said you shouldn't have 'posted' it. something like that may be FM'd to someone, this way its private and away from vendors or whoever did this to you. a lot of vendors read these posts and as i said 'IMO'. everyone has their own opinion on things.

That really Blows! I can't beleive someone would do that to anyone. I mean how do you say that?!! Even if it were true and you caught a break that is great for you.

Sorry someone did that... it just shows that ppl can not be genuinely happy for others good fortunes!

I'm sorry, but I do NOT agree with you! I read that thread, and it taught me a lot of new ways to negotiate! I also read her specific post, and you would have to be a complete moron to interpret it the way whoever it was did. This is supposed to be a helpful place for women planning one of the most important day of their life, and no one should have to watch what they post because some witch decides to be an idiot a s*rew the other person! Obviously she's not the most stable person, considering she used her first name and date like she KNEW her! I mean really.

try reading what i wrote after my first post.

thats fine u don't agree. everyone has there own opinion. thats why in my post i wrote IMO. and incase u don't know what it means cause your new its IN MY OPINION. thats how i felt about it. didn't say she was wrong, just could have been done another way, like Forum Mail thats all. i do feel bad for her that someone did that to her and i wrote that

Honey, I DO know how to read, obviously. And I do not lack the vocabulary to know what 'my opinion' means.

I'm not your honey and i was trying to be polite cause you are new. when i was new i didn't know a lot of chat lingo.

Well then I apologize, I thought in your last post you were trying to be rude.

apology excepted and if I did come across rudely than I too apologize. sometimes we write things on here and not realize how they may sound to other people.

I'm with MJDoc 12. The issue at hand is not what she posted, but what someone did with it. Also, she did not say she was getting any such special privelege, just commented on it. Some people give out information on this site, some may be a little too much info, some not. But the whole purpose of this site is to help your fellow sisters out. And thats all she was doing. As one of the newbies said, I have learned soo much from this site. I have even talked to a girl getting married at my catering hall who had a few things thrown in for free, and I had to pay for them. But I would never go and run to my BM whining about it, and to boot, mention where I heard it from!!!!

This girl had cajones!! MJDoc12 was just posting info like soo many other brides have and it was actually very useful. Again, she never claimed to be recieving such breaks, nor did she attach any promises to it.

Amstellitelady, I understand its just 'your opinion' and you have a right to post it. But this particular thread is about MJDoc12 venting about the wrongdoings of another. When someone is upset and frustrated, I personally don't think its a good idea to point blame on her or digress the subject to another point where it wasn't headed to begin with. Also, its not very kind of you either to pick on a Newbie nor is it relevant to post how long you've been on here or belonged to LIW. She too was just posting an opinion. On a thread where a fellow bride is obviously looking for a support and maybe a hug, if you have nothing good to offer a person in need, than take your opinions elsewhere.
But, thats JMO!!!

Again, I am so sorry this happened to you!

I too just went in and deleted most of my information from my profile. I thought my FH was crazy when he told me not to put too much personal stuff up on here but now after what happened to you I guess he was right.

I hope you figure out who was the one who did this to you. She needs to apologize to you.

oh lord, get a grip and let me say again. i do feel bad for her that this happened and i did say to her that it must have been embarressing as well as to someone else that it wasn't right what that person or vendor did to her. I didn't point any fingers or blame on a newbie. i know what its like to be a newbie and wanting to ask a lot of questions. and the only reason why i wrote how long i'm here is cause she pointed out about the brides helping brides making it sound like i don't know what it means. i've been very helpful to others on this website and vice versa. Don't be rude and put JMO in bold, no need for it. i didn't do it in mine. i was posting an opinion that may be she should have done it in a different way possibly by Forum Mail thats all. God, how many times am I going to repeat myself.
