Re: Thatched cottage thread

Hi everyone!

Just a quick question for those planning on getting married outside in the gazebo.

I am getting married at TC May 21st 2011. As far as ceremony flowers go, I wasn't really planning on doing anything extra since it will be Spring and flowers will have bloomed. FH and I are paying for everything ourselves so we have a really tight budget.
But now Im thinking what happens if it rains all day and we have to have the ceremony inside. Just wondering what everyone else was doing and how you were planning for bad weather.

Thanks!!

We are paying for the wedding mostly on our own with a little help from our families. I am using what they give us. If it gets moved inside im sure they can just bring everything inside.

Hey ladies,

This is my first post even though I check the thread all the time. I am the ultimate procrastinator, four months out and the only thing booked is TC and my DJ (seriously, I haven't even ordered my dress yet ). So I'm finally getting into serious planning mode and have random questions:

- If you're getting married outside at the gazebo, are you doing any additional decorating (aisle ends, etc)?

- Are you decorating or adding personal touches to the reception area?

- Since you can only get there an hour early, are you taking pics somewhere else earlier or just going to take as many pics as possible before guests arrive and the rest during cocktail hour?

- Is anyone having a photo booth and where are you putting it?

I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Thanks a mil

Ok I finally figured out how to reply directly.. haha oops anyway

1. I am getting married there and not adding anything to the gazebo area.

2.I am adding lots of candles to the reception area!!!

3. I am taking pictures at the vanderbilt before.

4. The photobooth gets put by the bar in the reception hall

if they fit in a high chair they are free, I think it is 2 and under are free as well. Any child older than 2 is considered half price unless you have not met the minimum number your told them then they are full price.

Thank you! any idea up to what age children go? I have a 15 years old thats a picky eater and probably wont eat the adult food...also some 12year olds

My FH and I are going to look at the Thatched Cottage this weekend, we have heard nothing but wonderful things about it! FH and i are paying for everything ourselves, so we are trying to work on a budget. I was wondering if anyone could help em out and maybe let me know how the prices are for diffent months and days. Im unsure which months are more than others, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ladies!

Re: Thatched cottage thread

hi all! just a quick note to say that i had my wedding at The Thatched Cottage on 5/29 and it was gorgeous! you picked a great place. we had the ceremony outside in the gazebo and it was so pretty. i have to say that i was little anxious as TC is not great leading up to the wedding, ( i just didn't get great vibes, and they were a bit hard to get in touch with) but they really deliver on the day. the food was really unbelievable--i wish i had more time to eat it. the dreaded fire siren went off on our way back down the aisle, but it was actually hilarious. the wedding is receiving rave reviews--you are all lucky ladies!

Re: Thatched cottage thread

July brides!! Its almost time!!

Quick question - what is the max amount of people that you think would fit comfortably at a table??

I know they say an avg of 12....so do you think 13 adults and 2 kids would be smushed??

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Hi Ladies,

To anyone getting or have been married at the thatched cottage. Did you or are you planning on having a rehersal at the catering hall? Does anyone know if they even allow it and if so does it costs extra. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Yes you can have a rehearseal at the thatched cottage. I am writing this to you STRAIGHT from my 3 month paperwork from the TC.

'Rehearsals are done Mon-Thurs if the date is available. You can have a maitre d' available for rehearsal for 75$, however if you choose to have your officiate preside over your rehearsal, there would be no charge. Should you wish to have a rehearsal dinner at the same time you would receive a 15% discount on the menu and the $75 maitre d' fee would be waived'

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Hey! Just wanted to give a quick review of the TC!

our day was awesome!! Honestly, when people say that it is the fastest day of your life, they're not lying! The whole day is a big blur! I didn't believe them at first, but its SO true!

Everything at the TC was awesome. At the CH we chose the Mashed Potato bar and the Mexican station. EveryoneLOVED the mashed potato bar and said the sushi was amazing. We didnt get to our CH b/c we were tkaing pics...but they left us like 8 plates of food in the bridal suite....which was awesome! By that time, I didn't realize how hungry i was!

The staff was all really great and soo nice to us! Andre was even there helping with the dinner!

Everyone LOVEd the food, and said the cake was amazing as well! The Ice cream bar was a big hit as well! I honestly didnt eat the cake, but my mom is a huge dessert fan, so I believe her!

I have to say I didn't really see my BA much...but then again we didn't really ask much of her, so maybe thats why.

People say its hard to get in contact with the TC, but we never really had a problem. The only time we had an issue was when the girls answering the phones were kind of clueless. Andre was always super helpful. My DH favorite word is now 'beautiful' b/c of him haha.

During the day, the only small issue I notcied was they forgot to give us our toasting flutes. The maitre'd came over to pour the champagne, and we asked for them. He ran out of the room and got them right away. Also, I think we are missing 1 table camera, but I didnt notice until we got back from our honeymoon Monday, and I've been too lazy to call.

Overall the day was amazing, and I would definitely recommend the TC. I have heard from so many guests how great it was!! I hope I get invited to a wedding there one day, so I can enjoy it as a guest!

Also, I tried to post a link to pics...but it was removed....let me know if u want the link and i will send it!
