Re: The Official 2007 'Already Married Brides' Advice Thread
-definately bring lip gloss with you!!- If you can get two photographers Im so glad I did because now I can see all my husbands pictures and he can see mine 'pre' wedding' and of course the different angles
- do NOT sweat the small stuff. My DIY runner didnt get delivered to the church and so I didnt get my runner- OH WELL! I didnt sweat it nor did I care at that moment- my day wasnt ruined because a runner wasnt there....
- if you are thinking about getting a hoope skirt- do it!!! I got one from ebay a 5 hoop POOOOFFFYYYYY slip and it was AMAZING!! It really made the dress GORGEOUS! and the best thing was it ket me cool ALL day!!
- EAT EAT AND EAT! I didnt eat too much for dinner because I didnt have an appetite HOWEVER i did eat during coktail hour and of course before that breakfast a nice protein based meal- kept me full the whole day and i never felt like fainting or light headed from not eating!!!
- get a pair of slippers to change into right before the recption starts- my feet didnt even hurt!
if i think of anythign else i will def post it!

omg it was like THE greatest!!! Make sure though you put elastic around the waist because it comes with a rope type thing and IT HURTS!!! It made my dress looks SOOOOOOO much more better than a regular slip!!!

My Only Advice is to Remeber that it is you & your FH's day. Not anybody else's.Take in every moment. Before you walk down the aisle take a Deep Breathe. You will rememeber that moment for the Rest of your Life.

4) don't let the OOT'ers take over your life!!!! good grief, they'll move in if you let them...... push them out the door when you're getting tired... or better yet, get your parents to push them out
GREAT ADVICE!!! After coming home to a housefull of people on several occassions I told DH that our house was OFF LIMITS from that point on...i had too much to do and needed my space and was NOT in the mood to be sociable...and they understood after I freaked out on them one night...haha...as my DOC reminded me on several occassions...IT'S YOUR TURN TO BE SELFISH!!! Do it girls!!!

Re: The Official 2007 'Already Married Brides' Advice Thread
My advice:1-Sleep. Even if it is a drug induced sleep, that is fine, just make sure to get at least 7 hours. I hardly slept at all the night before my wedding and one of the things I remember most is feeling soooooo tired the day of the wedding. It even shows a little in my pics. So sleep!
2- Book a dermatologist appointment two days before your wedding. Even if you don't need to go, you can always cancel, but if you suddenly break out, you will be so glad you have it. I broke out before my wedding and my dermatologist's bitc* receptionist wouldn't fit me in. It was really stressful.
3- Give your family and BP a detailed timeline and perhaps even specific duties. My BP really dropped the ball in so many ways on my wedding day. I wish I had been more clear about what I needed them to help me with on the day of.
4- Eat. I didn't eat anything after breakfast and by the time I was on the way to the reception, I was feeling weak and nauseated.
5- Have a trusted family member look after your veil/shoes/purse. I lost my veil...
5- Have fun and don't worry--your day will be GORGEOUS!!!!!

Re: The Official 2007 'Already Married Brides' Advice Thread
1. My advice (easier said then done I know) is to stay clam.People said I was the calmest bride that they had ever seen and therefore it actually made them have a better time.
2. If you have a long break between the wedding and the reception, take your pictures and take a few minutes to relax. We had about an hour of free time to chill. When we were going to the bridal suite, the Maitre D asked if we wanted our bridal party to leave the room and I was like of course not. I want to spend time with them. Needless to say, we get up there and there are no seats for us to sit in and everyone is so loud and I immediately say get them out of here. It was great we had the room all to ourselves. The bridal attendant brought us up a serving tray of food from the cocktail hour and 5 advil - 2 for me, 3 for DH. We were set to go. We went down to the cocktail hour about 10 minutes after it started and did not eat a thing (so thank goodness they brought us up that tray)
3. Since we had ate a decent amount of food, we were not hungry for dinner at all. So instead of eating, we danced. :) It was great. We just got our food boxed and ate it the next day.

Re: The Official 2007 'Already Married Brides' Advice Thread
Have your hair and make up done as early as possible and try to get dressed shortly after. You'll have a lot more photo ops if you are dressed and ready as opposed to hanging out in your hoodie sweatsuit. You will be amazed how fast the time goes by!! One minute you are hanging out with the girls, and the very next minute is mass chaos! and than the limo arrives!
Absorb everything!! I made it a point to soak everything in while it was happening. Try not to have an outer body experience during the church either. i know everyone's eyes are on you but zone them out! When i walked down the aisle I looked straight at my husband. we were both crying.
Here is another tip within the tip! Dont be so stoic at the aisle either. One thing i remember most was that we were so affectionate b/c we were living in the moment and enjoying it. i dont think i ever let go of his hand during the ceremony.
My fav moment was when we were at the alter. I kept looking at my husband and saying to him ' we are getting married' this is finally happening!
Make sure you take plenty of pictures prior to the cocktail/reception and then enjoy the wedding! Our photog. asked if he can pull us out for some sunset pics and we said NO!!
you dont need pictures of every nook and cranny- we were more than confident that he captured all the moments that were neccessary and then tons of candid shots as well as traditional shots.
they are there to record the day. and not for nothing how many pictures can you hang on a wall of your wedding? i'd say 3 shots are plenty, anything more is like, you might as well have a shrine dedicated to yourselves.- so since you cant hang every picture up and the rest of the pics are going to hang out in an album that will be opened ocassionally, than whats the point.
you spend all this money for one day- go out and enjoy it! dont miss a moment of your wedding to take a picture by the cascading waterfall or the staircase- unless of course its b4 the reception. you can only have so many pictures in an album but you cant have plenty of the reception.- whats the biggest complaint of every bride? - that the wedding goes by so fast!
so be there and enjoy it!
those are my 3 pearls of wisedom!

Re: The Official 2007 'Already Married Brides' Advice Thread
Dont squish everything together. Leave plenty of time for pictures AND have back-up plans for if you run late or it rains. Unfortunately, because we made ourselves so crunched for time, we missed so many pictures and we made it almost impossible for our photographer to be creative.

Re: The Official 2007 'Already Married Brides' Advice Thread
So my wedding is still 5 months away, but my brother just got married and his wife had the best idea. While we were at the salon and everyone was buzzing around getting hair and makeup done, she had her ipod in. She made a mix called Wedding Day and it was all her favorite music. She was just relaxed and happy AND didn't hear my mom when she shouted across the salon 'What do you mean the florist is LOST?!?!?' She was immune from all of it
