I've actually read this book twice in my life. I still remember stuff about the book. A lot of times I read things, and years later, I can't remember how the plot went.

I just finished Harlan Coben's 'No Second Chance' - it was awesome! He is a new author to me - DH's friend recommended him and gave me the book - awesome suspense novelist! I'm definitely going to look for other books of his now.

I just finished 'the Pact' by Jodi Picoult in 24 hours. What an amazing book! I'm afraid I'm going to have some nightmares tonight. But I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who hasn't read it. I enjoyed it much more than 'my sister's keeper' although I didn't cry quite as hysterically.Tomorrow I'm starting 'the plain truth.'

I'm reading Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. I love all of her Stephanie Plum books, and can't wait to see if this one can live up to them.

I'm reading The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, by Anne Fadiman. It's a non-fiction book about the clash between a small county hospital in California and a refugee family from Laos over the care of their daughter who has severe epilepsy. Her parents and doctors want what's best for her, but but the lack of understanding between them leads to tragedy.Donna
I read Metro Girl as well, and although ok, didn't think it measured up to Stephanie Plum .

Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????
I just finished 'the plain truth' and 'confessions of a shopaholic.' Three books in 5 days...a new personal record!I thought 'the plain truth' was a great book. Very stunned by the ending and I've had a couple disturbing dreams because of it.
'Confessions...' was a good light-hearted read. Definitely a break from the last 5 books I've read which were all pretty morbid.
Today I started 'good in bed.'

Just finished 'Little Children' by Tom Perrotta, who wrote Election, a Matthew Broderick movie that came out a few years ago.The writing was good, but all the characters p!ssed me off so I ended up not really liking the book.
Last night I started 'Word Freak', an account of the odd world of competitive Scrabble.

I read Namesake on my honeymoon. Loved it! My husband also read it and enjoyed it too. Her short stories were awesome!

Sweet and funny page-turner), 'Perfect match' by Jodi Picoult (another good one by this author, I'm definitely starting to notice a theme), and 'Shopaholic takes Manhattan' (as cute as the first one.)Tonight I'm starting 'In the River Sweet' by Patricia Henley.
