WEll, it depends on where. AT this point, it's usually a 6, but I find that Banana's pants run really big, so the 4s are big on me. But, yes, I think the 6's are the first to go.

Here in the UK, women's sizes run two sizes smaller than they do in the states. so depressing! You DONT want to move here!

12-14 depending on the pants..I do feel that these sizes sell out fast. It's hard to find them.

I agree with eogora - being a size 0 really stinks because the stores don't stock many small sizes. It's especially annoying when you have long legs AND are a size 0! It's so hard for me to find pants that are small enough in the waist and hips but are long enough in the leg too

After reading most of these responses, I have come to realize that the sizes we want are usually not available when we want them (i.e. when they are on sale )

I used to be a 10/12 before the wedding. By the wedding I was like a small 8 going on a 6.
And now I'm back up to an 8 I'm so upset at myself -- I don't know how this weight came back.

I'm trying my hardest to lose a little before my cruise but we're leaving on the 21st

I am sooo bad with my weight that in one year I can be anything between a 4 - 8! I've been this way since college (yo-yo dieter).

Hummm well in school I was always a 4...then I gained a little weight and was a 6 or 8...then lost it for my wedding and was a 4 again.

Since the wedding...and quitting smoking...I have gained SO MUCH weight that even my baggy sweats are getting tight so I don't even want to know what size I am now. Nothing fits me. I weighed myself last night for the first time since my wedding in November....and I almost fell off the scale. Can you say TWENTY FIVE lbs??!!?!? I thought I only gained 15...well, nope, I was wrong...25!!!!!! NO WONDER nothing fits me!

about 6 years ago I was very overweight, I was a size 14. I never could find my size at stores. Now I am a size 6 and I usually never have a problem, although, medium tops are tough to find.

I wear a size 6. I know how you feel when you say that unless you're there when they put out the new inventory...you're stuck with these itty bitty sizes that my arm couldn't fit into

my goal for the summer is to get into a size 4...we'll see...its very hard to not eat esp with all the bbq's coming... I need to change up my gym routine...in order to that I need to make a goal for myself...otherwise the motivation won't kick in...lets see if it works...

I am a size 4 at Old Navy!

But normally a 6. However i like bigger fitting pants and get an 8. My big issue is i have long legs...I am 5'8' so i have to buy mostly long pants because regular just don't go all the way down to my ankles...that is my biggest problem finding pants.

I love the Christie Fit Long at Victoria's Secret...its one of the few pants made for my body!!

I voted 4-6 but it totally depends on the cut and style of pants. A lot of the pants you see in stores today are cut for the super slim body type with no hips or butt. I am shaped like a woman - I have hips and a butt… This pushes me into the next size. I have pants that are a size 2 which fit me perfectly but they are cut right for my body type.

0 may sound small, but it's not that small, really. The size standards have changed a lot over the years, to take into account the size of the average American woman, which nowadays is larger than in years past.
The wedding industry is one of the few places where you'll see sizes that are more 'true'. My wedding gown was an 8, even though in regular clothes I'm a 0.

So many skinny minnies on this board (except if the healthier girls just aren't posting) I'm a size 12 in pants, was down to an 8 three years ago and hope to at least be in size 10 by my wedding.

It's hard b/c the 12's are always big on my waist, but my damn thighs and butt.
