Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?

Okay...folks...

The priest does not want us to do a full mass. He believes that you should be very religious..going to mass every sunday......in the eyes of the LORD>....

So, no mass for spitzergirl..............

So, now my ceremony will be at 3:30pm
CH at 6:30pm.

My Ceremony is at 11:30am, cocktail hour is at 12pm, and dinner/lunch at 1pn-5pm. Everything is at the hall. But in my experiance with going to weddings, you don't want too much time in between, unless you have some sort of thing for them to do. 2 hours in between church and dinner was alittle long at my friends wedding.

So true.
My ceremony is 5-5:30.Cocktail hour at 6:30. One hour to travel considring reception hall is half hour away.

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?

Church 3pm
CH 7pm
Reception 8pm

We're having it at a hotel so people are thrilled about the time gap so they can go and check in before the CH

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?

Well, I think you'll be OK, although that is a little long..you figure the ceremony won't start at exactly 3, so figure a ceremony will go to at least 3:45, if you're having a Mass, it will probably go until a little after 4 pm. By the time people file out, say goodbye, it will easily be 4:30. Depending on traffic, it could take an hour to get to Nassau from Queens, you're looking at people hanging around for maybe an hour or more..any way you can suggest a bar nearby or restaurant where people can relax before the reception? Good Luck..I know it's tough..

Re: What time does your Ceremony/Cocktail hour Start?

3 hours seems to be the norm for the last few wedding I went to. Ours it at the hall so we have the ceremony at 5:30, CH at 6:30 & the Recp at 7:30 - 11:30

But, the last wedding I went to was at a church and they had CM at 3, CH 6, RC at 7. It worked out well becuase she had a full mass (3-4) recieving line for 190 people (4-4:45) and photos (4:45 - 5). The reception place was 10 min away but we probly waited about 10 min to get to the parking attendants. So we were really only waiting about 30 min when all was said & done.
