Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
I still sent a card. I don' feel its right to assume everyone has to give a gift at the wedding. I was just very happy that people showed up to show support and enjoy our day.I sent everyone thank you cards. I am glad I did as the people who did not give us gifts at the wedding later mailed us gifts.
Send everyone a thank you card. They are not expensive.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
I sent a thank you card to each guest who attended the wedding, gift or no gift. The thank you card is NOT to really thank them just for a gift but for joining you on your special day. Just because other people are rude doesn't mean I have to stoop to their level.

yes, I gave the two cheap @$$es a TY card even though they didn't even bring us a card to our wedding.I decided to rise above their tackiness and show them proper ettiquette, for thanking them for being a part of our day.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
just wondering who were these people to you? were they friends, familyThis post makes me laugh my wedding is coming soon and I never thought that people can be so rude. I think you absolutely should bring a gift or at least a card. to come to the wedding with no gift at all is ridiculous. I do belive that if the people can not afford it of course thats one thing you are inviting them because you want them there but they should at least have the decency to write out card thanking 'us' for inviting them. People are unbelievable at times. Bless them. I also think that leaving without saying goodbye is the worst. I just had my shower and someon from my work just got up and left withouts saying goodbye to me or anybody. That really did **** me off. And show some class that was my boss!!!

I would never send a thank you card to a stiffer but I will be sitting at home waiting for that cheap a$$ to send me my thank you card.

We sent everyone a TY card, gift or no gift. We kind of felt no one owed us a gift and we were really glad that everyone was at the wedding.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
Jenn, LMAO!!!!!I guess my friend got my wedding gift
I'm not sure it's okay to assume that everyone must give a gift. Yes, it's customary, but to expect it is a little tacky. So I think I would send a Thank You just because they were there. But I would write,
Dear Stiffer,
It would have been nice if you covered your plate you cheap skank, but since you didn't I will only thank you for your presence and not your generousity.
Seriously, though, getting ****ed off if you don't get a gift seems crass and greedy to me. Some people really can NOT afford it. And in that case, I would rather have their presence than have them stay home because they can't afford a gift.
JMHO.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
I am definitely sending a thank you card to everyone who attended. A gift is not necessary but of course very nice. A lot of my guests gave 'modest' gifts but I appreciate them anyway. Around my way, very few people seem to know the concept of covering your plate. I wasn't expecting much anyway, its not a fundraiser. I know they were all happy for me and I was happy to see them. I do think the least you can do is send a card. The people who am I really upset with are the ones who stood me up at the last minute AND didn't apologize or send a gift. I think that is inexcusable.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
I have already stated my opinion on this. To anyone that thinks it is greedy to expect a gift, I NEVER expected a gift. A simple card would of been nice. I did recently receive a gift after 10 months from one couple which leaves only one couple that didnt think of us at all. I think it is inexcusable when someone does this and you have been to ALL of their functions with your hands full with gifts and they come with nothing. Not being able to afford a gift wasnt the problem in this case.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
I completely agree with you Cindy. A simple card, which costs less than 3.00 is all it really takes. To me, someone who cannot even do THAT is a REAL stiffer. Money is not the issue. It's the principle.I don't care how poor a guest may be, they can at LEAST give you a card with good wishes.
It's not wrong to expect at least that much.

Re: Thank you cards to Non-gift givers..............
I didn't. My so called childhood friend didn't give us a gift up until 7 months later. So, I sent out all my thank you's 3 weeks after my wedding, and she got her's a few weeks ago, when I got the gift
