Do you invite the Priest?

OK I know I only have 30 days to the wedding and should have though about this before, but here we go. I was talking last night about the readers and I said I'm going to ask Pastor Ray (Family friend not priest marring us) to do the blessing at the reception. FH said 'shouldn't the priest do that' I said 'we didn't invite the priest'. I then call my sil and she didn't but had the same ? and wasn't sure the correct answer. So who the priest isn't close to us actualy the 3 time I saw him was when we went to the church to pick the date. I don't mind inviting him. What did/are all of you doing? Thanks for the help. Patty

Do you invite the Priest?

Hello, In my experience, the only weddings my husband and I have stayed for were ones when the Bride and Groom were actually members of our congregation, whom we had already had a relationship with. I think your friend doing the blessing will be fine. If you really like your priest and want to invite him it should be because you really want him there. It's your wedding. Do what makes your heart sing! L&L, April
