Hi new victims of Marc,

I am so sorry to be welcoming you to our club. Kathy and I went to Marc's house today and found a few things in his garbage, which allowed us to find many more shocked brides. We now have more than 30 couples (deposits or tapes) who are in this sad, sad club!

We hated to shock you that way but the sooner you found out, the better. We are all in this together and will do whatever we can to track down the tapes (and hopefully get the other girls' money back).

It is vital all of you new girls contact the DA on Monday to file your complaints. It's the only chance we have of getting our tapes back (he would probably give us the tapes if it meant the DA wouldn't arrest him).

Jennbaby ! I agree this guy is a loser for ruining the wedding memories of some of our fellow brides, but I think your suggestion [about Afghanistan] is a little harsh! We live in America where everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I'm not defending the man for his horrible business practices, I'm just saying he has rights too. And, he needs to give his former customers an explanation and/or a refund. The victimized brides deserve that much in the very least.

Claud, your entitled to your opinion, however, I like my comment and I'd say it again.
There is no innocent in this case! these women have experienced more than enough grief by this jerk and he does deserve what he gets and then some.
This thread is not about what you think is harsh, it's about a loozer and these ladies wedding memories ruined forever, and nothing will ever repair what he did to them. I don't think an explanation of any sort will repair what he did, nor will a refund.

Jennbaby I think you are absolutely correct, he gave away his rights when he decided to scam all the brides out of their wedding video. There is no reason if you pay for something why you shouldn't get what you paid for.

Hey girls,

For right now we just have to hang tough. We came this far and we've made a lot of progress.
As for Videomaker, the new home owner is going to let us know when the eviction process is complete and when any junk left in that apartment hits the curb, and you can bet that Shellie and I will be there going through garbage again. And it shouldn't be too much longer according to him.
We'll keep you posted on that. We are just keeping our fingers crossed there are wedding tapes amongst the trash.

Unfortunately right now we just have to wait and be patient.

Okay, Jenn...I understand where you are coming from, and I suppose you're right about no such thing as innocent in this case - especially since so many brides (and grooms) have been affected. Believe me, my heart breaks for these couples!!!

I guess personally, I just wouldn't wish the Taliban on anyone (except Osama himself and Saddam Hussein)...but, that's just me. I definitely think what Marc did is HORRIBLE and he deserves to PAY the consequences (whatever a US court of law desides). But, I don't think death at the hands of the Taliban or anyone else is an appropriate sentence in this case. That is all I meant....but, you my dear, are entitled to your opinion also!

Kathy is right, all the brides affected have to stick together. I am in the process of looking for my vendors and booking and hearing Kathy's story has made me very upset about looking for vendors because I know not all are like Marc, but that little bit of knowledge is in the back of my head when I talk to photographers, videographers, limo's, etc...

Even before Kathy's story, I have always done searches on vendors, getting feedback, looking them up on BBB.Org, etc...

But at the moment the main concern shouldnt be how to make this guy's life miserable, the law will handle that, the concern should be how those affected can lean on each other for support, digging through the garbage, and helping the police find this guy.

In the end, justice will be there and this guy will get what he deserves. For now, its just everyone being supportive and sticking together.

Chippatrid - I was also nervous about booking vendors but ended up booking my florist and videographer based on recommedations from this site. I made the appoinments because I had read so many great things about them and after meeting with them, I rave about them the same way the other brides here do. I guess great minds really do think alike

Hi Girls-
Nothing new to report yet (but they day is early).

Recommendations from happy customers who have received their videos or photographs is the way to go. With Marc, we didn't ask for him to give us a list of people we could call for recommendations (another mistake on our part). A lesson to be learned: make sure you speak to at least one satisfied customer for each of your vendors.

Kathy and I are trying to be patient. We hope the new homeowner gets permission soon so we can post back with news.

I hope you and Kathy find out something soon. I really can't stop thinking about what he has done to us. When I get home this evening I am going to make a formal complaint to the BBB and Consumer Affairs. I wanted to make sure I have my contract in front of me to make sure I get everything exact.

Honestly a lot of vendors can provide you with references, who know if they are friends or family. Search the message boards! That was a huge help for me when I was booking. Ask friends who they were happy and unhappy with too.

Hi to all in our little group. I submitted my BBB form just now and faxed over a copy of my complaint to consumer affairs. The situation is just awful. I amlost feel like my holiday is ruined. Well, I hope everyone else is hanging in there!

I just wanted evryone to know that I as well just finished sending my compliant to the BBB and will be calling the DA in the morning to give my complaint as well. I can complain all day if you let me. hahhahhahaha.
