Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
random question, If you had the choice between a 12:30 ceremony with 1-6 Reception or 5:30 ceremony with 6-11 Reception at the Fox Hollow, which would you choose? We have an option to move if they decide to go with a twilight on Sundays for $9 more per person, and I am torn. What do y'all think?

personally, i would go with a 5:30 ceremony. i am not a morning person & hate waking up early as it is. plus your not rushing around.

Thanks Girls. I prefer they are not in my room when they eat so this is good. Again, I love my vendors and don't necessarily want to exclude them from the party - I just think it's more comfortable if they don't have a table.
Thanks!
FH and i had been wondering the same thing! Thank you for posting the question!
That is why this thread is the best!

i did not meet my minimum... they do not throw any extras in.. but they will give you something off the list for a cheaper price.. we got the tropical bar and paid $1 less.. or something like that..
also, we counted kids and vendors to meet our minimum.. basically its just paying full price for them instead of their discounts.. its better than nothing.

I would go with the 5:30 ceremony. I'm not a morning person and I didn't want to rush around to get ready. The perk of an afternoon wedding is you can have an afterparty...it's personal preference though.

I think you should save the money and stick to the sunday afternoon. If you were having a church ceremony then I would recommend otherwise, but you are having the ceremony at fox hollow.
Starting the wedding later does not necesarily make things easier or more pleasant for guests. Remember people work on Mondays, and they always say 'oh I will take off', and they hardly ever do. I went to a wedding this November and the guests started leaving at 9 PM....when the party ended at 12 00. If anything why dont you spend the extra money and switch to a saturday afternoon or sat. night.

a 1 - 6 reception is GREAT for a Sunday. Nobody will leave early and you will save money.

Our wedding is MLK weekend, so a lot of the guests wouldn't have work or school that Monday, which is what makes it a little tougher. I like the idea of it costing less, but dont like the idea of being up at 5 in the morning on my wedding day to make sure I have everything done.
Did the girls with morning weddings have someone come to them for hair and makeup, or did you go to a salon?

i had people come to me. it was very stressful though. i thought it would be better but people kept coming to our hotel suite! i wish i had kept where we were staying secret.

from what i've heard... a lot of salons aren't open early enough to do morning hair/make-up, so they have to come to you and not vice versa. i'm sure this isn't always the case though!

yea you still have time... i had people not RSVP and we had to call.. they were like... 'oh yea we cant come' i just wanted to kill someone..lol
so, the week of the wedding we found out we didnt meet our minimum.. but it worked out.. they work with you so you dont lose a ton of money.
but hang in there, i know RSVP's are the WORST
you still have some time though. good luck!
